Where Winds Meet: Change Time, Signposts & Appearance
Three small menu actions that solve surprisingly common blockers: move an in-game quest clock, leave a Signpost for other players, or fix your character's appearance after creation.

How to change the time of day.
Fast path
Main Menu → Time / clock icon → move the hands forward → Confirm
- 1
Open the main menu
On PC, press Esc. Open the equivalent main menu on controller or mobile.
- 2
Choose Time
Select Time or the clock icon on the right side of the menu.
- 3
Move the clock forward
Drag the hands to the hour the quest requests. The selector advances time; it does not rewind it.
- 4
Confirm and return
Apply the change, close the menu, then approach the quest marker or NPC again.
Use the clock for an in-game hour
It is useful when a quest says to return at night, during a named Chinese hour, or after the in-game day advances. If you overshoot, keep moving forward to the same hour on the next in-game day.
Do not use it for a real-time gate
A prompt that says “the next day in real time,” a daily reset, or a time-limited activity will not be skipped by the world clock. Read the quest wording before assuming the objective is broken.
How to place and manage a Signpost.
Fast path
Bag → Signpost → Use → add message or photo → Place
- 1
Check your Bag
Find the Signpost item and confirm that you have at least one available.
- 2
Use the item
Select the Signpost from the Bag and choose its use or placement action.
- 3
Write the note
Add a short message. Photo Mode can attach an image, but still consumes one Signpost.
- 4
Place and manage it
Publish it at your current location. Open Social → Signposts later to see likes, comments, or remove it.
Current Global notes
- • Purchase more Signposts from NPCs when your Bag is empty.
- • Open Social → Signposts to check comments, likes, or delete one.
- • Signpost visibility can be disabled in Settings if the world feels crowded.
How to edit appearance after creation.
Hair, makeup, outfits, and owned cosmetics
Open Appearance from the main menu.
Use Wardrobe and its face, hair, or cosmetic sections for options your character already owns. These menus are separate from a full facial-structure reset.
Facial sliders and full resculpt
Use a Water Lady Script from your Bag.
The Global guide lists Water Lady Script at 200 Echo Jades. Prices and free tickets can change, so read the live confirmation and check your inventory before purchasing another item.

When the menu route does not solve it.
The clock moved, but the objective did not
Read the quest sentence again. A named in-game hour can be advanced; an explicit real-world day or server reset cannot.
There is no Signpost placement action
Confirm the item is actually in your Bag and select it there. Photo Mode is optional and still requires one Signpost.
You cannot find a Signpost you published
Open Social → Signposts instead of searching the map. That page keeps the entry, reactions, comments, and removal control together.
The face editor asks for an item or currency
Back out before confirming. Cosmetic changes and a full facial resculpt are different actions; inspect the Water Lady Script cost first.
What supports each menu route.
How do I change time in Where Winds Meet?
Open the main menu, select Time or the clock icon, move the hands forward to the required hour, and confirm. Return to the quest marker after the world updates.
Why did changing time not progress my quest?
Check the wording. The clock can satisfy an in-game hour, but it cannot skip a prompt that explicitly says the next day in real time, a server reset, or another time-limited activity.
How do I place a Signpost in Where Winds Meet?
Open your Bag, select a Signpost, and use it at your current location. Add a message before publishing; Photo Mode can attach an image and still consumes one Signpost.
