Open on Unfettered Rope Dart with a brief Dart Song Fills the Wild charge and its empowered Piercing Dart. Use Soul Sweep to enter Soulbound, apply Soul Loss until it becomes Soulbreak, and gain Soul Return; cast Burn and Bury while that target state is live. Switch to Everspring Umbrella, use Scarlet Spin to enter Flower Burial, then throw Returning Umbrellas and time Perfect Catch by the return cue. Use Cyclone Waltz for grouped enemies or a safe reposition. When Flower Burial or Fading Crimson is ending, switch back to Rope Dart and rebuild Soulbreak instead of forcing empty umbrella throws.

Version 1.7 materially changed this route: Cyclone Waltz gained stronger stagger and an earlier cancel; Perfect Catch Enhancement now gives the next Returning Umbrella 20% more HP damage against non-player targets; Returning Umbrella gained up to 12% additional Physical and Bamboocut scaling; Phantom Rally Resonance became Scarlet Spin damage for qualifying set and attunement bonuses and gained 8% HP damage; Towline Sweep improved Soul Loss application and extended Soulbreak/Soul Return to 21 seconds at Tier 1. The same patch increased Rope Dart's continuous charge Endurance use, so a long charge is a downtime choice, not a free opener.

Unlock the third and seventh Martial Art nodes before judging the Path, because Scarlet Spin, Cyclone Waltz, Soul Sweep, Burn and Bury and the charged actions are the actual engine.

Build the four Inner Way core
Use Morale Chant, Phantom Rally, Towline Sweep and Song of Tang. Phantom Rally is the Umbrella engine: Scarlet Spin creates Phantom Umbrellas and Perfect Catch triggers Resonance. Towline Sweep accelerates Soul Loss, supports Piercing Dart and extends Soulbreak/Soul Return. Morale Chant gives a stable whole-rotation ramp, while Song of Tang rewards repeated Martial Art Skills with critical damage and limited sustain.

Use Stars Align, Calmwaters and current stats
Run Stars Align weapons with Calmwaters armor for the PvE baseline. Both Martial Arts can stack Stars Align through boss hits or multi-target skills, and the Umbrella can use its distance bonus before the Rope Dart dive. Calmwaters rewards the Perfect Dodges this mobile build already wants. Prioritize Agility, Min Physical Attack, Min Bamboocut Attack, Critical Rate and Max Bamboocut Attack.

Prime the Rope Dart without overcharging
Hold Dart Song Fills the Wild only long enough to obtain the first empowerment for Piercing Dart, then release the charged action. Longer thresholds restore HP or Qi, but Version 1.7 increased continuous Endurance consumption. Save those holds for forced downtime instead of spending the first safe damage window charging in place.

Build Soulbreak and secure Soul Return
Use Soul Sweep to enter Soulbound and apply Soul Loss. Seven Soul Loss stacks become Soulbreak, increasing the target's damage and Qi-damage intake and granting Soul Return, which reduces Martial Art Skill resource costs. Towline Sweep makes Piercing Dart apply the state faster. Cast Burn and Bury while Soul Loss or Soulbreak is still present; on a boss, Soulbreak is the stronger cash-out state.

Switch to Umbrella and play the return rhythm
Use the Dual-Weapon Skill, then cast Scarlet Spin to enter Flower Burial. Throw Returning Umbrellas while Fading Crimson remains and press the catch at the return cue. The icon flash is useful, but the sound and the umbrella crossing back through the character are steadier timing references. Phantom Rally converts successful catches and summons into Resonance damage across grouped targets.

Use Cyclone Waltz, then rebuild the missing state
Cyclone Waltz groups nearby enemies, grants Tenacity and can swap you to an active Phantom Umbrella for repositioning. Cancel it when the target leaves or a mechanic starts; the current patch moved the cancel point earlier. When Flower Burial ends, Fading Crimson is empty, or Soul Return expires, return to Rope Dart and restore the missing state instead of restarting every button from the opener.

A mechanic begins during Rope Dart charge

Release early, dodge, or hold the recovery charge for downtime.

Tenacity prevents some stagger but does not erase damage, and the current continuous Endurance cost punishes stubborn long holds.

The boss becomes Exhausted

Use live Soulbreak/Burn and Bury value, then take the execution.

The stationary target is a clean burst window, but an available execution should not expire for another incomplete Umbrella cycle.

Scarlet Spin stops producing useful umbrella throws

Check Flower Burial duration and Fading Crimson. The resource does not regenerate naturally during Flower Burial. Establish Soul Return on Rope Dart before switching, then spend the limited window on Returning Umbrellas instead of unrelated actions.

Perfect Catch never triggers consistently

Use three cues together: the skill icon lighting up, the returning umbrella crossing the character, and its sound. Practice at mid-range where the out-and-back travel is readable. Repeatedly pressing the skill early usually hides the real timing rather than helping it.

Phantom Rally Resonance does not appear

Confirm Phantom Rally is equipped, Scarlet Spin has created a Phantom Umbrella, and the Perfect Catch is successful. Version 1.7 changed Resonance to count as Scarlet Spin damage for qualifying set and attunement bonuses and corrected a chaining issue, but it still needs the actual catch/summon trigger.

Burn and Bury deals little damage or cannot be used

Apply your own Soul Loss or Soulbreak first and cast before the state expires. The official patch fixed a no-damage case near expiration, but it did not remove the prerequisite. Towline Sweep makes the setup faster and extends the useful state at Tier 1.

Rope Dart charge consumes all Endurance

Use the first empowerment threshold for the normal damage cycle. The 3-second HP recovery and 4.5-second Qi recovery thresholds belong in downtime. Version 1.7 explicitly increased continuous charge consumption, so older footage understates the cost of holding.

An old 破竹鳶 guide says to build four tokens for a gauntlet punch

That is a different CN build. 破竹鳶 uses the Tianzhi gauntlet and another Rope Dart route; it is not Everspring Umbrella plus Unfettered Rope Dart. For this Global Path, map 醉夢遊春 to Everspring Umbrella and 粟子行雲 to Unfettered Rope Dart, then use Soulbreak and Perfect Catch instead of a four-token punch.
