Matching Martial Art Paths are the simplest way to get compatible resources and swap effects.

Martial Arts

Confirm both weapon styles are learned, not merely equipped.

A weapon without its Martial Art supplies basic attacks but cannot reproduce a guide's skills or combat system.

Weapon swap

Give the second weapon one explicit setup, recovery, control, defense, or payoff job.

A recommended pair contributes nothing when half of it never enters the practiced loop.

Slot enhancement

Upgrade the two active weapon slots.

Enhancement belongs to the slot and remains when a different weapon is equipped there.

Inner Ways

Read the effect at the tier you actually own and name the action that triggers it.

A max-tier or weapon-specific recommendation can be inactive in a different build or at a lower breakthrough tier.

Mystic Skills

Cover different jobs and budget combat Vitality.

What is the best beginner build in Where Winds Meet?

For a low-risk start, keep Nameless Sword as the damage weapon and choose Panacea Fan from Qi Shan for ranged healing. Then work toward a matching Path once you know whether the account needs DPS, healer/support, or tank play.

Do I need matching weapon Paths?

Matching Paths are the simplest starting point because their Roles, resources, and swap effects are designed to cooperate. Hybrid pairs can work when one weapon provides a specific persistent setup, recovery tool, or payoff.

Should I follow a build tier list?

Use it to discover a route, then check patch date, PvE or PvP mode, required Inner Way tiers, gear assumptions, and the actual combat loop. Do not turn a ranking directly into a spending order.

When should I tune gear?

Gear Tuning unlocks at Character Level 41 and World Level 5. Tune an eligible item when it is worth keeping and you know which affix family fixes the active build; early gear is replaced too quickly for perfection chasing.

Should I relay Tier 86 gear into Tier 91?

Relay selectively when the old piece already has a valuable set, useful Tuned lines, and Attuning worth preserving. Farm a fresh Tier 91 piece when the old package is weak or you want the higher standard cap and normal Retuning route.

How do I know why my build is weak?

Repeat the same encounter and identify what ends the loop: HP, Qi, Endurance, Vitality, cooldown, missed control, or low damage. Change one system, repeat the test, and keep the result that fixes that named failure.
