Where Winds Meet Infernal Twinblades and Rope Dart Build

Mortal Rope Dart prepares a short coordinated-attack window; Infernal Twinblades turns that window into many Light Attack triggers. The pair works when the setup is compact and the blades stay on target. It falls apart when you overcharge the Rope Dart, lose Rodent Rampage while chasing, or treat Flamelash lifesteal as permission to ignore a boss mechanic.

Pinned answer

Enhance Rodent Rampage, mark the target, then spend the window on Flamelash Light Attacks.

Start on Mortal Rope Dart and hold Rodent's Resilience only to the 1.5-second enhancement. Use Bladebound Thread and its follow-up to apply Vendetta, cast Rodent Rampage, then switch to Infernal Twinblades. Build Karmic Flame with Addled Mind and connected Light Attacks. When the gauge is full and the rodent window is still useful, cast Flamelash and finish Blade of Heaven's Wrath strings. Return to Rope Dart when the summon expires or the target leaves your pressure range; rebuilding a clean window is better than continuing weak blade attacks without the setup.

Payoff weapon

Infernal Twinblades for Karmic Flame and rapid Light Attacks

Version 1.7 added extra non-player HP damage to both Twinblades Light Attack forms, gave the 1.5-second Rope Dart charge two Rodent Rampage enhancement stacks, lengthened Echoes of Oblivion's Samsara effect, and moved the summon-duration benefit of Vendetta to its base tier. Version 1.8 changed Swallowcall's additional hit to 6% Physical and Bamboocut damage against targets below 40% Qi or in an Abnormal Qi State, and made the Flamelash cast uninterruptible. That last change protects the activation, not every attack made during Wrathful Form.

Build plan

Build the on-hit pair, then run one seven-step pressure loop.

  1. 1

Equip both Bamboocut - Wind Martial Arts

Use Infernal Twinblades with Mortal Rope Dart. Rope Dart contributes a summon that survives the weapon swap; Twinblades supplies the hit rate that makes the summon worthwhile. Unlock the third and seventh Martial Art nodes before judging the pair, because Flamelash, Calamity's Greed and the full charged/special toolkit define the actual loop.

  2. 2

Build the four Inner Way core

Use Echoes of Oblivion, Vendetta, Breaking Point and Morale Chant for the current PvE baseline. Echoes directly rewards normal and Flamelash Light Attacks; Vendetta extends the Rope Dart setup and supports Token of Gratitude; Breaking Point converts Exhausted-target critical hits into penetration and critical-damage pressure; Morale Chant is the stable general ramp. Upgrade Echoes first when Twinblades is the real damage weapon.

  3. 3

Use Swallowcall, Calmwaters and current stats

Run Swallowcall weapons with Calmwaters armor for PvE. Swallowcall now rewards low-Qi or Abnormal-Qi targets with Physical and Bamboocut additional damage; Calmwaters turns some Perfect Dodges into HP and Endurance recovery. Prioritize Affinity Rate, Momentum, Physical Attack, Bamboocut Attack and Crit Chance. Do not copy an old 70% critical-rate target without checking the current character sheet and the content you are actually clearing.

  4. 4

Charge Rope Dart only to the first useful threshold

Hold Rodent's Resilience for 1.5 seconds to gain the two enhancement stacks added in Version 1.7. Longer charge thresholds can restore HP or Energy, but they also spend more time and Endurance before the damage window. Use them as recovery decisions, not as mandatory opener steps.

  5. 5

Apply Vendetta and summon before switching

Land Bladebound Thread, use the follow-up while its input window is open, then cast Rodent Rampage. The follow-up marks the target with Vendetta so coordinated rodent attacks deal more damage and return some Token of Gratitude. Against a boss, Bladebound Thread pulls you toward the target instead of dragging the boss, which makes it a useful re-entry tool as well as a mark.

  6. 6

Build Karmic Flame, then commit to Flamelash

Swap to Infernal Twinblades and connect Addled Mind or Light Attacks until Karmic Flame is full. Activate Flamelash while the target is reachable and Rodent Rampage still has useful time. Finish Blade of Heaven's Wrath strings instead of interrupting every chain with a slow charged action; the fifth hit is especially important when Echoes of Oblivion has its Tier 6 effect.

  7. 7

Use Calamity's Greed, then reset the missing state

Use Calamity's Greed when its returning-blade follow-up can complete safely; completing that sequence reduces Addled Mind's cooldown. When the summon ends, Vendetta falls off, or the boss leaves melee range, do not restart blindly. Reapply only the missing Rope Dart state, rebuild Karmic Flame if needed, and preserve dodge Endurance for the next real opening.

Choice table

Choose the next action from summon time, Karmic Flame and target access.

Rodent Rampage is missing

Return to Mortal Rope Dart before extending the blade string.

The pair's main synergy is the summon triggering beside rapid Light Attacks; Twinblades alone loses the setup payoff.

The target has no Vendetta Token

Use Bladebound Thread and its follow-up before summoning.

Vendetta raises the coordinated rodent payoff and helps recover Token of Gratitude, so it belongs before the short summon window.

Karmic Flame is full and the summon is active

Cast Flamelash and prioritize connected five-hit Light strings.

This is the overlap the build is designed to create: enhanced Twinblades attacks and repeated coordinated hits on one reachable target.

The boss is moving or airborne

Re-enter with Bladebound Thread or Cloud Steps, or hold the setup.

The current Rodent Rampage description requires connected Light Attacks. The old advice about attacking empty air for remote rodent damage is not a safe current rule.

A lethal mechanic starts during Flamelash

Dodge first and resume from the next safe Light Attack opening.

Version 1.8 protects the Flamelash cast from interruption; it does not make Wrathful Form invulnerable or erase its HP drain.

The target becomes Exhausted

Use the stationary window, then take the execution before it expires.

Breaking Point rewards critical hits on Exhausted targets and Swallowcall can benefit from the current Qi state, but an execution is still the clean endpoint.

The 1.5-second charge is unsafe

Use an unenhanced summon or wait for a controlled window.

Losing the entire opener to a telegraph costs more than giving up the enhancement stacks for one cycle.

Build fixes

Six Bamboocut - Wind failures and the state that fixes them.

Rodent Rampage is active but the rodent rarely attacks

Make sure the Twinblades Light Attacks are actually connecting. The summon coordinates with Light Attack hits and has a limited duration. If the boss has moved, close the gap instead of continuing the animation into empty space.

I cannot cast Rodent Rampage again

Check Token of Gratitude and whether Bladebound Thread's follow-up is landing on the marked target. Vendetta supports token recovery and extends the setup at its current base tier; an opener that skips the mark is harder to sustain.

Flamelash damage feels low

Do not activate it after the summon has expired or when the boss is leaving range. Build Karmic Flame first, overlap Flamelash with Rodent Rampage, and finish Light Attack strings. Also confirm Echoes of Oblivion is equipped and the target's Qi state can activate the current Swallowcall effect.

I still get hit after Version 1.8

Only the casting of Flamelash is uninterruptible. The following Light Attacks can still be punished, and Wrathful Form drains HP. Treat the cast protection as a cleaner entry, not as a license to trade through a boss attack.

Rope Dart charging empties Endurance

Release at the 1.5-second enhancement instead of waiting for every recovery threshold. The 3-second and 4.5-second effects solve HP or Energy problems; they are not required for the damage opener and can be moved to downtime.

An old guide gives different buttons, damage numbers or a 70% crit target

Those notes predate Global names and the Version 1.7/1.8 changes. Keep their useful weapon-role lesson, but use current skill names, current tuning stats and current target state. Later official patches also fixed multiple Twinblades and Rope Dart damage-settlement issues, so old dummy numbers are not a valid benchmark.

PvE gear

Swallowcall + Calmwaters

The weapon set rewards the current Qi-state window; the armor set supports repeated Perfect Dodge pressure.

First upgrade

Echoes of Oblivion

It directly changes normal and Flamelash Light Attack value, including the fifth-hit payoff at Tier 6.

Charge rule

Stop at 1.5 seconds

That is the damage enhancement threshold; longer holds are optional recovery choices.

Old-name bridge

Dual Blades + Rope Dart

Older 雙刀 and 繩鏢 guides map to Infernal Twinblades and Mortal Rope Dart in Global English.

Sources and questions

Current rules, original articles, and the next useful route.

What is the best weapon pair for Infernal Twinblades?

Mortal Rope Dart is the natural Bamboocut - Wind partner. It summons a rodent that coordinates with connected Light Attacks, while Infernal Twinblades supplies the rapid hit rate and Flamelash window that turn the summon into meaningful pressure.

What are the best Inner Ways for Bamboocut - Wind?

Use Echoes of Oblivion, Vendetta, Breaking Point and Morale Chant for the current PvE baseline. Echoes is the first upgrade because it directly improves the Twinblades Light Attack engine.

How long should I charge Mortal Rope Dart?

For the damage opener, release Rodent's Resilience at 1.5 seconds to gain the two Rodent Rampage enhancement stacks. The longer thresholds recover HP or Energy and are optional downtime tools, not required rotation steps.

What stats should Infernal Twinblades prioritize?

Prioritize Affinity Rate, Momentum, Physical Attack, Bamboocut Attack and Crit Chance for the current build. Treat old fixed critical-rate or level targets as historical observations rather than universal breakpoints.

Is Flamelash invulnerable in Version 1.8?

No. The official Version 1.8 note says the Flamelash burst skill cannot be interrupted during casting. It does not make the full Wrathful Form duration or every following Light Attack invulnerable.

Do old Dual Blades and Rope Dart guides still work?

Their setup-versus-payoff idea still maps well: prepare the rodent on Rope Dart, then trigger it rapidly with Twinblades. Old keybinds, dummy numbers, bug claims and fixed critical-rate targets should be replaced with current Global names and patch rules.
