Solve method
Build from the outside in.
Yan Gui Board is a tangram-style activity. The final silhouette matters more than the order in which pieces are moved.
Check the piece count
A four-board prompt uses four pieces; a seven-board prompt uses the full tangram set. Start with the matching filter instead of comparing every silhouette.
Match the outer silhouette
Identify the long edge, the highest point, and the direction the shape faces. Goose, horse, goat, and boat are easiest to separate this way.
Place the largest pieces first
Use the largest triangles or long quadrilateral as the body, hull, bridge span, or base. The small pieces usually finish the head, horn, tip, or corner.
Use the screenshot as the final orientation
If the outline looks right but the board does not accept it, compare the angle and touching edges of each colored piece rather than only the overall shape.

Are the English location and pattern names official?+
No. They are practical translations and search bridges from the Chinese screenshots. The Chinese labels remain visible so players can match the source even if a future localization changes the names.
Do I need to copy an exact move order?+
No fixed move order is required by the source material. Reproduce the final geometry shown in the solved screenshot; controls and piece-selection order may differ by platform.
