Where Winds Meet Silkbind Jade: Inner Ways & Fan Build

Silkbind - Jade pairs Vernal Umbrella's sustained projectile pressure with Inkwell Fan's safe setup, Lingering Bone mark and pursuit window. The Path works when you stop treating range as permission to stand still: keep the four Inner Ways below, build Blossom only during a real opening, mark bosses yourself, then rotate before the buffs expire.

Pinned answer

Start Silkbind Jade with Blossom Barrage, Star Reacher and Morale Chant, then choose one flex slot.

Blossom Barrage, Star Reacher and Morale Chant form the stable three-slot core. Use Envigorated Warrior as the developed fourth slot, Fivefold Bleed while progressing, or Battle Anthem when charged attacks dominate your own damage. In combat, start with Jadewind Shield, apply Spring Sorrow, build at least 50 Blossom, cast Unfading Flower, then switch to Inkwell Fan and apply your own Lingering Bone before the heavy pursuit. If the boss is already closing distance, abandon the charge and reset instead of losing the next cycle to one unsafe cast.

Silkbind Jade Inner Ways: three core picks and one flex slot

This table is the answer to the loadout question. The first three choices support the actual Fan-to-Umbrella loop; the fourth depends on account investment and which part of the rotation produces your damage.

Core 1 · Blossom Barrage

Why it staysMakes Spring Sorrow the ballistic-damage setup and directly supports the Vernal Umbrella half of the Path.

Swap ruleKeep it for the standard Fan and Umbrella pair. Remove it only when Vernal Umbrella is no longer part of the loadout.

Core 2 · Star Reacher

Why it staysRewards Airborne targets and your own Lingering Bone sequence. The official May update fixed repeat-mark triggering on already marked targets.

Swap ruleDo not replace it to hide a broken loop. First confirm Peak's Springless Silence is applying your own mark before the pursuit.

Core 3 · Morale Chant

Why it staysProvides a steady general damage ramp while both weapons cycle through projectiles, charges and pursuit attacks.

Swap ruleKeep it as the low-maintenance slot unless a tested encounter-specific option has clearly better uptime on your account.

Flex · Envigorated Warrior

Why it staysUse it as the developed general-damage slot when you can avoid being hit during the setup and aerial return.

Swap ruleUse Fivefold Bleed while progressing, or Battle Anthem when charged attacks are the largest share of your own combat record.

The official Version 1.7 update changed this Path substantially: Spring Away and Unfading Flower gained 15% damage against non-player targets, ending Unfading Flower can refund 15 Blossom, Forsaken Fame gained damage and Endurance recovery, and Star Reacher's repeat Lingering Bone trigger was fixed. Version 1.8 then added Tenacity to Spring Sorrow and the Unfading Flower toss in Hero's Realm and Sword Trial, while changing Veil of the Willow to Physical and Silkbind damage. Older launch rotations miss those rules.

Build plan

Build the pair, then run one seven-step projectile loop.

  1. 1

Equip both Silkbind - Jade Martial Arts

Use Inkwell Fan and Vernal Umbrella together. The shared Path matters because the Umbrella wants projectile buffs and a Lingering Bone target, while the Fan supplies both. Unlock the third and seventh Martial Art nodes before judging the build: the charged attacks, varied follow-ups and special skills are the actual loop, not optional polish.

  2. 2

Build the four Inner Way core

Use Blossom Barrage, Star Reacher and Morale Chant as the stable core. Blossom Barrage turns Spring Sorrow into the ballistic-damage setup; Star Reacher rewards the Airborne or Lingering Bone sequence; Morale Chant ramps through normal attacks. Use Envigorated Warrior as the high-investment fourth slot, Fivefold Bleed while progressing, or Battle Anthem when charged attacks are clearly the largest share of your own parse.

  3. 3

Tune gear for repeatable damage, not a dummy-only ceiling

Hawkwing with Flawless Defense is the reliable baseline: repeated Affinity hits build Physical Attack while the armor set survives imperfect encounters. Veil of the Willow is the direct projectile alternative after its Version 1.8 change; Ivorybloom is only the greedy option when full-HP uptime is realistic. Prioritize Max Silkbind Attack, Min Physical Attack, Affinity Rate, Critical Rate and Agility in that order.

  4. 4

    Open with Jadewind Shield

Jadewind Shield creates distance, blocks projectiles and grants Enhanced Trajectory. Its short dodge window can save a cast, but do not use it as an invulnerability promise. Open or refresh with the shield when the boss has committed to a line you can step away from, then move into the Umbrella setup.

  5. 5

Apply Spring Sorrow, then build Blossom safely

Switch to Vernal Umbrella and land Spring Sorrow before holding Spring Away. Spring Away builds Blossom and now has stronger PvE damage, but the aerial return remains the vulnerable part of the route. Release early or abandon the charge when the boss turns toward you; the original Ninefold Spring notes are right that a missed damage window is cheaper than being hit out of the next one.

  6. 6

Cast Unfading Flower and mark the boss

At 50 or more Blossom, toss Unfading Flower so the umbrella continues firing while you switch weapons. On Inkwell Fan, use Peak's Springless Silence to apply your own Lingering Bone to a boss, then take the heavy pursuit when it appears. This mark is not shared after the May changes, so another player's setup does not replace yours.

  7. 7

Cash out, recall and restart before the setup decays

Use the empowered Fan pursuit and a safe damage Mystic such as Soaring Spin, then return to the Umbrella while the target still has the relevant debuffs. Let Unfading Flower end or recall it when the boss leaves range; the current non-Arena refund reduces the cost of a clean reset. Rebuild with Jadewind Shield and Spring Sorrow instead of extending a broken loop with unbuffed attacks.

Choice table

Choose the next input from Blossom, the mark and the boss position.

Opening a boss fight

Jadewind Shield, Spring Sorrow, then a safe Spring Away charge.

The sequence creates projectile protection and applies the ballistic setup before spending the aerial window.

Boss is rushing you

Drop the charge, dodge or shield, and rebuild from range.

Spring Away's damage does not repay a knockdown, lost Blossom cycle and missed defensive timing.

Blossom is below 50

Keep Unfading Flower in reserve and use only safe charge windows.

The special skill cannot start below its resource threshold; forcing the setup early only exposes the aerial recovery.

Unfading Flower is active

Switch to Inkwell Fan, apply Lingering Bone and take the pursuit.

The umbrella keeps applying pressure while the Fan supplies the mark required for enhanced projectiles on bosses.

Humanoid target is airborne

Use the Fan pursuit while Windrider is available.

Airborne targets naturally satisfy the Path's pursuit logic and let the Fan extend the sequence before they recover.

Boss cannot be launched

Treat Lingering Bone as the Airborne replacement.

Current PvE rules explicitly let your own mark trigger the interactions that humanoid Airborne states normally provide.

Boss is Exhausted

Commit the full projectile and pursuit sequence, then execute.

The safest damage window is when the boss cannot punish the aerial charge or the Fan's closer-range follow-up.

Build fixes

Six Fan and Umbrella problems with a specific correction.

Unfading Flower stops almost immediately

Check that you started above 50 Blossom and did not drain the remaining resource with enhanced shots. The umbrella consumes Blossom while active and recalls itself when the resource runs out. Build a cleaner reserve before the next toss instead of recasting at the threshold every time.

Spring Away keeps getting punished

You are treating range as safety. Start the charge after a boss commits, during Exhausted, or after a real control window. If the boss has already turned back toward you, release early or leave; the landing recovery is the route's known weakness.

The Fan pursuit does not appear

Confirm that the target is Airborne or carries your own Lingering Bone. Peak's Springless Silence and Forsaken Fame can establish the mark on non-player targets. Since May, marks are independent by caster, so a teammate's mark does not satisfy your setup.

The build has range but low damage

Check order before stats: Spring Sorrow should precede the projectile window, Jadewind Shield should refresh Enhanced Trajectory, and the Fan sequence should happen while Unfading Flower is active. Unbuffed umbrella pokes are filler, not the finished rotation.

Endurance runs out during the loop

Stop holding every charge to maximum. Use Forsaken Fame on a non-player enemy for the current Endurance recovery, leave enough resource to dodge the landing, and reset Unfading Flower cleanly so the non-Arena Blossom refund can work.

An old guide says Q, light charge and throw

Map the old route by mechanic, not keybind: the old Q setup is now expressed through named Global skills, Ninefold Spring is Vernal Umbrella, and Qingshan Fan is Inkwell Fan. Use Spring Sorrow, Spring Away, Unfading Flower and the Lingering Bone Fan sequence shown by your current client.

Gear baseline

Hawkwing + Flawless Defense

Patch alternative

Veil of the Willow

Version 1.8 changed its buff to Physical and Silkbind damage, making it a direct projectile option.

Boss trigger

Your own Lingering Bone

Use the mark when Airborne control cannot apply; shared marks no longer substitute for it.

Old-name bridge

Qingshan + Ninefold

青山执笔 maps to Inkwell Fan and 九重春色 maps to Vernal Umbrella in current Global English.

Sources and questions

Current rules, original articles, and the next useful route.

What is the best weapon pair for Inkwell Fan?

Vernal Umbrella is the natural partner. Both belong to Silkbind - Jade: the Umbrella supplies sustained projectile damage while Inkwell Fan adds Lingering Bone, Enhanced Trajectory, Airborne pursuit and defensive spacing.

What are the best Inner Ways for Inkwell Fan and Vernal Umbrella?

Use Blossom Barrage, Star Reacher and Morale Chant as the core. Add Envigorated Warrior when developed, Fivefold Bleed as an accessible progression slot, or Battle Anthem when your charged attacks dominate the damage profile.

What stats should Silkbind - Jade prioritize?

Prioritize Max Silkbind Attack, Min Physical Attack, Affinity Rate, Critical Rate and Agility. Do not sacrifice every defensive roll if being interrupted during Spring Away is the actual reason the rotation fails.

How does Unfading Flower work?

It requires at least 50 Blossom, tosses the umbrella into the air and keeps firing while you use another weapon. It consumes Blossom over time and recalls when empty. In non-Arena content, ending the state can refund 15 Blossom under the current patch rule.

Is Qingshan Fan the same as Inkwell Fan?

Yes. The older Chinese route called 青山执笔 or 青山扇 is localized as Inkwell Fan in the Global client. Its natural current partner is Vernal Umbrella.

Is Ninefold Umbrella the same as Vernal Umbrella?

Yes. 九重春色, often shortened to 九重傘 or 九春傘, is the older Chinese name behind the current Global Vernal Umbrella Martial Art.
