Where Winds Meet Nameless Sword Build: PvE Sword and Spear

Nameless Sword is the damage engine; Nameless Spear creates the setup, Endurance breathing room and Exhausted-target burst. The build is easy to start but only becomes clean when Sword Morph, the Qi shield and Stage 2 Vagrant Sword are aligned instead of charged at random.

Pinned answer

Use Nameless Sword for repeated Sword Morph bursts and Spear for the setup.

Open with Nameless Spear's Qiankun's Lock, then cancel the recovery with Deflect and switch to Nameless Sword. Build the Qi shield, fully charge Vagrant Sword to Stage 2 for Multiple Sword Energies, use Shadow Step, and charge again inside the five-second Sword Morph window. When a boss becomes Exhausted, either cash out with Spear's Storm Dance or stay on Sword if the safer ranged pressure keeps the loop alive.

Natural Path

Bellstrike - Splendor

Main damage

Nameless Sword Stage 2 Vagrant Sword + Sword Morph

Spear job

Qiankun setup, Endurance flow and Exhausted-target burst

The 2025 Chinese article was written for coordinated raid damage and explicitly recommended Sword-Fan for solo play or unreliable pickup groups. Keep that distinction. Sword-Spear is the natural Bellstrike - Splendor output route; it is not automatically the most comfortable route for every account or team.

Build plan

Build the loadout, then practice the seven-step boss loop.

  1. 1

Equip the natural Bellstrike - Splendor pair

Use Nameless Sword as the primary damage weapon and Nameless Spear as the utility and burst weapon. Both Martial Arts must be learned. The Sword supplies mobility, Qi waves and safer ranged pressure; the Spear supplies Qiankun's Lock, heavier committed attacks and Storm Dance during a real opening.

  2. 2

Build around Sword Morph before adding flex damage

Start with Sword Morph, Morale Chant and Battle Anthem. Sword Morph creates the multi-wave Vagrant Sword payoff, Morale Chant ramps through normal uptime, and Battle Anthem rewards the charged-skill boss loop. Use Adaptive Steel as the standard flex slot; swap to Mountain's Might when Endurance flow is the reason the rotation keeps breaking.

  3. 3

Use Hawkwing and Formbend as the practical baseline

Hawkwing fits the Sword's repeated multi-hit Affinity windows and ramps Physical Attack. Formbend extends the shield duration and reduces incoming HP damage while the Qi condition or shield is active, giving the charged Sword sequence room to finish. Prioritize Affinity Rate, Momentum, Max Physical Attack, Max Bellstrike Attack and then Critical Rate.

  4. 4

Open with Qiankun's Lock and cancel the recovery

Use Qiankun's Lock, then press Deflect to leave the long animation and switch to Sword. Against bosses, the current skill applies Qi Imbalance rather than Immobilized. Official May changes let the Path use that state for Qi and damage interactions; the June update adds extra HP and Bellstrike vulnerability if the target becomes Exhausted during it.

  5. 5

Release the first Stage 2 Vagrant Sword under a shield

Do not release the charge just because the button is held. Confirm the Qi shield and Sword Morph condition, complete Stage 2, then fire Multiple Sword Energies. Version 1.7 removed further Endurance drain after Stage 2 and raised the release payoff, so overcharging is no longer the old resource trap.

  6. 6

Use Shadow Step to create the second Sword Morph window

After the first release, use Shadow Step to reposition and start charging again within five seconds. The current Sword Morph rule allows the next Stage 2 Vagrant Sword to release Multiple Sword Energies in that window. If the boss moves, keep the charge only while the hit remains realistic; a missed full charge is worse than resetting safely.

  7. 7

Spend the Exhausted window, then reset Endurance

Use Soaring Spin to reconnect, then Dragon's Breath into Drunken Poet when the Vitality and animation window are safe. On Exhausted bosses, swap to Spear and use Storm Dance for the committed cash-out, or continue Sword pressure if movement makes the channel unreliable. End the loop with enough Endurance to dodge the next mechanic rather than squeezing in one doomed charge.

Choice table

Use the boss state to decide whether to charge, swap or reset.

Opening a boss

Qiankun's Lock, Deflect cancel, then switch to Nameless Sword.

The Spear creates Qi Imbalance and the current June rule rewards reaching Exhausted while that state is active.

Qi shield is active

Complete Stage 2 Vagrant Sword and release Multiple Sword Energies.

This is Sword Morph's real damage window. Charging without the condition turns the same Endurance commitment into a much weaker result.

First Sword Morph fired

Shadow Step, reposition, then begin the next charge inside five seconds.

Version 1.7 makes the follow-up window visible and reliable; use it for the second wave instead of filling the gap with random attacks.

Boss becomes Exhausted

Use Storm Dance if the boss is stationary; otherwise keep safe Sword pressure.

The Spear channel has the better committed cash-out, but a moving or mechanic-heavy target can invalidate the full animation.

Endurance is low

Stop charging, use Spear utility or normal pressure, and keep one defensive action available.

This Path fails through resource greed. Mountain's Might is a valid flex only after the basic recovery discipline is already in place.

Clearing dense mobs

Use Flute of the Tides while continuing the normal weapon loop.

The following AoE effect handles spread targets without forcing the single-target Sword rotation to chase each enemy.

Solo or weak pickup group

Replace Spear with Panacea Fan when recovery matters more than peak coordinated output.

That tradeoff comes directly from the original field notes: a theoretical raid loop is not useful if the run collapses before its damage window.

Build fixes

Six common Sword-Spear failures and how to repair the loop.

Vagrant Sword fires only one ordinary wave

Check all three conditions: Sword Morph is equipped, the Qi shield is active, and Vagrant Sword reached Stage 2. If one is missing, the charge is not the multi-wave burst shown in finished-build clips.

The second charge misses the Sword Morph window

Use Shadow Step immediately after the first release and start charging within five seconds. Do not insert a long Mystic Skill animation between Shadow Step and the charge; move that skill to the reconnect or Exhausted window.

Qiankun's Lock wastes too much time

Press Deflect after the useful part of the skill to cancel its recovery, then swap. If it misses in PvP, the current Arena rule leaves a more punishable recovery, so the same opener must be used only on a real opening.

I have no Endurance for the mechanic

Release at Stage 2, stop chaining charged actions after the burst, and use Spear or ordinary pressure while recovering. Keep one dodge in reserve. If the disciplined loop still starves, use Mountain's Might in the flex slot before chasing more damage.

Storm Dance keeps getting interrupted or whiffing

Treat it as an Exhausted-target cash-out, not a routine button. Confirm the boss is stationary and the mechanic will not force movement. When that window is uncertain, continuing Vagrant Sword pressure is the correct lower-risk branch.

The rotation is too long to repeat cleanly

Strip it back to Qiankun's Lock, one Sword Morph charge, Shadow Step, the second charge and a safe reset. Add Soaring Spin and the Dragon's Breath to Drunken Poet combo only after the two core charges land reliably.

Inner Way core

Sword Morph first

It changes the charged Sword mechanic; the other slots improve a loop that already works.

Gear baseline

Hawkwing + Formbend

One rewards repeated Affinity hits; the other protects and extends the shield-led charge window.

Patch change

Stage 2 is the stop point

Version 1.7 ended extra Endurance drain after Stage 2 and made the Shadow Step follow-up easier to track.

Audience rule

Output needs a stable run

Use Sword-Fan when sustain is the actual bottleneck; the original guide never claimed one pair solved every group.

Sources and questions

Current rules, original articles, and the next useful route.

What is the best Nameless Sword build in Where Winds Meet?

Nameless Sword plus Nameless Spear is the natural Bellstrike - Splendor PvE route. Sword is the main damage weapon; Spear supplies Qiankun's Lock, Qi Imbalance, Endurance utility and Storm Dance during Exhausted windows.

What Inner Ways should Nameless Sword use?

Start with Sword Morph, Morale Chant and Battle Anthem. Adaptive Steel is the standard flex option; Mountain's Might is the practical replacement when Endurance flow is stopping the rotation.

How do I trigger multiple Sword Energies?

Equip Sword Morph, gain the Qi shield and charge Vagrant Sword to Stage 2. After releasing it, use Shadow Step and begin the next charge within five seconds to trigger the follow-up Sword Morph window.

What stats should the Nameless Sword build prioritize?

Use Affinity Rate first, then Momentum, Max Physical Attack, Max Bellstrike Attack and Critical Rate. The exact roll choice should still reflect the current sheet and owned set pieces.

When should I use Storm Dance?

Use it when a boss is Exhausted and stationary long enough for the committed Spear channel. If the target is moving or a mechanic is starting, stay on safer Sword pressure and preserve the loop.

Is Nameless Sword good for beginners?

Yes. The weapon is available early, handles both melee and ranged pressure and belongs to a complete natural Path. The main learning cost is Endurance discipline and aligning the shield with Stage 2 Vagrant Sword.
