Where Winds Meet Region Collection Guide

A regional route index for players who know what they want to collect but not where to begin. Pick the current Global region and subregion first, then sweep access, travel, first clears, activities, chests, and Oddities in that order.

Pinned answer

Choose the Global region first, then finish one subregion at a time.

The current map is organized into Qinghe (Verdant Wilds, Moonveil Mountain, Sundara Land), Kaifeng (Kaifeng City, Granary of Plenty, Jadewood Court, Roaring Sands), and Hexi (Jade Gate Pass, Liangzhou Town, Qinchuan Path). Within one subregion, reveal the Wayfarer, activate Boundary Stones, finish one-time objectives, then sweep one collectible category at a time.

Open the current regional map

Some original articles and local route notes use Chinese-version area labels such as Bujian Mountain or Hutuo. Treat those as landmark and terminology leads, not automatic equivalents of a current Global region or subregion. Match the in-game map title, nearby Boundary Stone, and visible landmark before following the route.

Map route

Use one repeatable sweep for every subregion.

  1. 1

Read the current region, subregion, and layer

Open the in-game map and copy the names shown by the client. Set the same main region and subregion in the browser map, then confirm whether the objective is on the surface, underground, underwater, or inside a separate area. This prevents most false route matches.

  2. 2

Reveal the subregion with its Wayfarer

Follow the Flame or campfire marker and speak to the Wayfarer before collecting. Revealed terrain exposes local activity icons and makes the rest of the sweep readable. If the marker is unavailable, advance the access or regional story first.

  3. 3

Build the Boundary Stone travel loop

Activate every accessible Stone and use them as the sweep's endpoints. Travel access matters more than the nearest chest because every later category will reuse the same network, and each Stone contributes to that region's Exploration progress.

  4. 4

Clear one-time combat and quest objectives

Complete available Campaign Bosses, World Bosses, Outposts, Jianghu Legacies, Worldly Affairs, Exploration Quests, and Wandering Tales once. These objectives can unlock rooms, follow-ups, and hidden pins that a collectible-only route cannot reach.

  5. 5

Sweep Sentient Being activities by type

Work through Meow Meow, healing, debate, music, archery, fishing, Pitch Pot, chess, camps, Hidden Paths, and other visible activities. Use the location's Sentient Beings record to avoid repeating a category that is already complete.

  6. 6

Finish chests, Oddities, and small objects separately

Enable one browser-map category at a time and move between activated Boundary Stones. Read every pin for entrances, height, puzzle tools, or story requirements. Check it off only after the game records the interaction or reward.

  7. 7

Keep a short return list for gated pins

Record the subregion, nearby Stone, pin type, and missing prerequisite. Separate story-gated, time-gated, chance-triggered, co-op, and alternate-layer entries so a return trip starts with the correct condition instead of another blind search.

  8. 8

Claim regional milestones before moving on

Open the Journal and collect the current region's Exploration Level rewards. Then choose the next subregion inside the same region or deliberately switch ladders. Do not let completed points sit unclaimed while progress becomes scattered across three regions.

Decision table

Choose the route that matches the current map title and goal.

Starting in Qinghe

Begin with Verdant Wilds, then use Wayfarers and Stones to open Moonveil Mountain and Sundara Land routes.

Qinghe is the starting region and teaches the activity types that repeat across later maps.

Collecting in Kaifeng

Set Kaifeng City, Granary of Plenty, Jadewood Court, or Roaring Sands before enabling the pin category.

The dense city, surrounding areas, and separate layers make a main-region-only filter too broad for reliable cleanup.

Exploring Hexi

Choose Jade Gate Pass, Liangzhou Town, or Qinchuan Path and confirm current story access.

Hexi contains distinct desert, town, mountain, and route content; patch additions make old two-region lists incomplete.

Source says Bujian Mountain

Match landmarks, Boundary Stones, and quest names before using the local route note.

Bujian is a source-region label and should not be silently renamed to a current Global subregion.

Source says Hutuo

Use it as a legacy search bridge, then verify the current in-game map title and nearby location.

Cross-version regional organization can differ even when individual landmarks or encounters still match.

Need Exploration Points

Prioritize Wayfarers, Boundary Stones, first clears, and side quests before low-value object cleanup.

The opening pass raises the regional ladder quickly and unlocks travel and content needed by the final sweep.

Need one named collectible

Search its current English name, select one category, and read the pin details before traveling.

A targeted route should not require enabling every activity or repeating the whole regional checklist.

Map fixes

Five region-route mistakes that waste the most travel time.

The guide's region name is not in my Global map

Do not guess a translation. Compare the quest, landmark, nearby Boundary Stone, terrain, and subregion title. Use older Bujian, Hutuo, and similar labels only after at least two current landmarks match.

The correct subregion filter still shows no pin

Check the map layer and pin category, then try the nearby landmark or activity type instead of the collectible's translated name. Open the broader regional map when a newer pin has not yet been assigned to the narrow filter.

I keep crossing the same area for different collectibles

Finish access and Boundary Stones first, then sweep one subregion by category. A stable travel loop is more efficient than chasing the globally nearest pin across categories and layers.

The final entry needs a quest I cannot find

Open the in-game Journal and regional quest list, check Main Chapter progress, and read the pin's prerequisite. Add the entry to a story-gated return list instead of repeatedly visiting its end coordinate.

My browser checklist and Sentient Beings count disagree

Trust the in-game count. Reopen checked pins in the missing category and confirm each reward or interaction. External progress is manual and can be checked under the wrong region, account, or layer.

Current regions

Qinghe · Kaifeng · Hexi

Choose the main region first so subregion names and pin filters remain comparable.

Sweep order

Access before objects

Wayfarers and Boundary Stones create the map and travel network used by every category.

Collection pass

One category at a time

Separate activities, chests, Oddities, and gated entries so missing counts remain diagnosable.

Legacy labels

Match landmarks first

Bujian and Hutuo notes stay useful only when the current Global location can be identified independently.

Sources and questions

Current map rules, original notes, and the next useful route.

What are the current regions in Where Winds Meet?

The current English map groups content into Qinghe, Kaifeng, and Hexi. Their listed subregions include Verdant Wilds, Moonveil Mountain, Sundara Land; Kaifeng City, Granary of Plenty, Jadewood Court, Roaring Sands; and Jade Gate Pass, Liangzhou Town, Qinchuan Path.

What order should I use for a regional collection sweep?

Reveal Wayfarers, activate Boundary Stones, complete first-clear combat and quests, finish Sentient Being activities, sweep chests and Oddities by category, record gated pins, and claim regional Exploration rewards.

Are Bujian Mountain and Hutuo current Global region names?

Treat them as older source-region or terminology labels, not automatic current Global subregions. Match the in-game region title, landmarks, Boundary Stones, and quest names before following those local notes.

Should I collect every chest before changing subregions?

Finish the accessible chest pass when the travel network and story access are ready, but record story-gated entries and move on. Forcing a locked chest wastes more time than returning after its prerequisite.

How do I keep regional collection progress organized?

Use the in-game Sentient Beings and Exploration Level as the authoritative counts. On the external map, filter one region, subregion, layer, and category, and check a pin only after the game records it.
