Where Winds Meet Yaksha Rush: The Promised Light Guide

Yaksha Rush is the guaranteed reward for finishing Qinghe's final Jianghu Legacy, The Promised Light. The route is long because the quest checks two campaigns, 6,000 Qinghe Exploration Points, a Wayfarer conversation, the Wu Hour pagoda entrance, and the Tian Ying story fight.

Pinned answer

Finish The Promised Light and defeat the story version of Tian Ying.

Complete the Bodhi Sea and Palace of Annals campaigns, keep both halves of the Light Jade, reach 6,000 Qinghe Exploration Points, and speak with the Sundara Land Wayfarer. Track Jianghu Legacy - Final: The Promised Light, place the Light Jade on Buddha's Light Pagoda during the Wu Hour, clear the underground route, defeat Tian Ying, and finish the escape. Yaksha Rush is awarded by the completed story quest.

Region

Halo Peak, Sundara Land, Qinghe

Quest

Jianghu Legacy - Final: The Promised Light

Reward check

Story Tian Ying clear and quest completion

The Promised Light story clear gives Yaksha Rush. Free Morph is a different reward learned later by deflecting Tian Ying's spinning kicks in the separate Challenge encounter. If a guide tells you to fill an eye-shaped proficiency meter, it is explaining Free Morph, not Yaksha Rush.

Unlock route

Seven checks from the Qinghe gates to the permanent Yaksha Rush reward.

  1. 1

Complete Bodhi Sea and Palace of Annals

Clear both Qinghe campaign routes. Their first completions provide the Yin and Yang halves of the Light Jade needed at Halo Peak. Owning only one half is not enough to open the final Jianghu Legacy dungeon.

  2. 2

    Reach 6,000 Qinghe Exploration Points

Open the Qinghe Exploration screen and check the regional point total. The Promised Light is deliberately placed at the end of Qinghe progression; map completion percentage alone is less useful than the displayed 6,000-point requirement.

  3. 3

Speak with the Sundara Land Wayfarer

Ask the Wayfarer in Sundara Land about the final Jianghu Legacy, then inspect and track The Promised Light from Exploration. This conversation is a separate gate, so meeting the campaign and point requirements does not always place a useful marker by itself.

  4. 4

Open Buddha's Light Pagoda during the Wu Hour

Climb to the top of the pagoda at Halo Peak, set the in-game time to the Wu Hour, and place the Light Jade on the pedestal. Enter through the base, use Wind Sense to reveal the lever, and pull it to open the hidden trapdoor.

  5. 5

Use Meridian Touch on the light statues

Below the pagoda, inspect the mirror-holding statue and use Meridian Touch to rotate it toward the marked opening. Continue redirecting light through the underground chambers. Follow the quest objective rather than copying an old keyboard input, because platform prompts differ.

  6. 6

    Reach and defeat Tian Ying

Clear the puppet rooms, obtain the route key, cross the rope passages, outrun the collapse, and activate the Thousand-Buddha Cavern Boundary Stone. Rotate the last light statue, prepare at the Hero's Tomb, then defeat Tian Ying in the story instance.

  7. 7

Finish the escape and confirm the reward

Leave through the underwater cave and let The Promised Light close completely. Check Develop > Mystic Skills for Yaksha Rush. The boss victory is the decisive combat step, but leaving before the quest completion state can make the reward look missing.

Global and older guides

Yaksha Rush, 藥叉破魔, and the Tian Ying story reward are the same route.

ReferenceWhat to use now
Current Global skillYaksha Rush, an offensive single-target control Mystic Skill tagged for breaking an opponent's defense.
Original Chinese name藥叉破魔 / 药叉破魔 (Yaocha Pomo) is the identity used by the original acquisition article; it is not a separate regional skill.
Current Global questJianghu Legacy - Final: The Promised Light at Halo Peak, unlocked through the two campaign clears, 6,000 Qinghe Exploration Points, and the Sundara Land Wayfarer.
Older route labelThe original article names the Halo Peak guardian Tian Ying and the final-volume route 長夜有虹. The current Global quest covering that same reward path is The Promised Light.
Tian Ying versus MiaoshanCurrent English references may show Tian Ying, Miaoshan, or both around the encounter. For this unlock, use the boss at the end of The Promised Light rather than searching for a second open-world target.
Campaign versus ChallengeThe story quest awards Yaksha Rush. The later Challenge version supplies the separate Free Morph proficiency route and should not be used as the Yaksha Rush claim step.

Troubleshooting and use

Check the four quest gates, the pagoda mechanism, and the Tian Ying instance separately.

The Promised Light is not in my journal

Verify all four gates: Bodhi Sea complete, Palace of Annals complete, 6,000 Qinghe Exploration Points reached, and the Sundara Land Wayfarer spoken to. Then inspect the final Jianghu Legacy entry in Qinghe Exploration and track it.

I have 100% Qinghe exploration, but the quest is absent

Check the numeric Qinghe Exploration Points total rather than only the percentage. Also confirm both campaign clears and the Wayfarer conversation; no single map percentage proves all four requirements are satisfied.

The Light Jade pedestal does nothing

Confirm you own both Light Jade halves, The Promised Light is tracked, and the clock is set to the Wu Hour. Use the pedestal at the top of Buddha's Light Pagoda, not a light statue inside the dungeon.

The pagoda opened, but I cannot find the way down

Enter the base and activate Wind Sense. It highlights the lever that opens the concealed trapdoor; the visible doorway is only the first part of the entrance sequence.

The mirror statue will not move

Target the inspected statue and use Meridian Touch when the quest interaction is available. If Meridian Touch is missing from your Mystic Skills, finish its Yan Qiren Jianghu Legacy before returning to the light puzzle.

I defeated Tian Ying but Yaksha Rush is still locked

Make sure the fight was the story instance inside The Promised Light, then complete the underwater escape and let the Jianghu Legacy close. A Challenge, Campaign replay, Hero's Realm fight, or unfinished quest state is not the same claim check.

I got Yaksha Rush, but I wanted Free Morph

Nothing went wrong. Yaksha Rush is the intended story reward. Use the newly opened Tian Ying Challenge, reach phase two, and deflect the spinning kicks until the eye meter is full to learn Free Morph separately.

Yaksha Rush is learned but cannot be equipped

Open Mystic Skills rather than weapon Martial Arts and assign it to an available Mystic Skill slot. Owning the skill and unlocking extra Basic Talent slots are separate progression checks.

Combat role

Defense break and launch

Yaksha Rush closes distance, pressures a guarding target, and can launch an eligible enemy into follow-up control. Large or control-immune targets may not give the full launch value.

Use case

Punish committed defense

Treat it as a deliberate answer to defense rather than a universal opener. A readable forward rush can be punished if used from the wrong range or without a setup.

Shared rule

Watch defense-break cooldowns

Current references place Yaksha Rush in the defense-break family. Do not assume another skill with the same tag can be chained immediately without checking the live client state.

Values held

Check the current tooltip

Vitality cost, cooldown, damage, silence duration, dash distance, breakthrough materials, and PvP behavior can change. This route guide does not freeze old CN values as current Global facts.

How do you unlock Yaksha Rush in Where Winds Meet?

Finish Qinghe's final Jianghu Legacy, The Promised Light. It requires Bodhi Sea, Palace of Annals, both Light Jade halves, 6,000 Qinghe Exploration Points, and the Sundara Land Wayfarer. Open Buddha's Light Pagoda at the Wu Hour, clear the dungeon, defeat Tian Ying, and finish the escape.

Why is The Promised Light not showing up?

One of four gates is usually missing: Bodhi Sea, Palace of Annals, 6,000 Qinghe Exploration Points, or the Sundara Land Wayfarer conversation. Check each one independently, then track the final Jianghu Legacy from Qinghe Exploration.

Does Tian Ying give Yaksha Rush or Free Morph?

The Tian Ying story fight at the end of The Promised Light gives Yaksha Rush. Free Morph is learned later in the separate Challenge encounter by deflecting the phase-two spinning kicks until the proficiency meter is full.

Is 藥叉破魔 the same skill as Yaksha Rush?

Yes. 藥叉破魔 / 药叉破魔 is the Chinese identity used by the older acquisition article, while Yaksha Rush is the current Global English name.

What time opens Buddha's Light Pagoda?

Place the Light Jade on the top pedestal during the Wu Hour. If it still does not react, check the two campaign halves, 6,000-point gate, Wayfarer conversation, and tracked quest before changing the clock again.

Do I need Meridian Touch for The Promised Light?

The underground route uses Meridian Touch to rotate mirror-holding statues and redirect light. Follow the current quest interaction; old keyboard screenshots may show a different input from your platform.

What does Yaksha Rush do?

It is an offensive single-target control skill with a defense-break role: rush forward, pressure a guarding target, and launch an eligible enemy. Exact values and breakthrough effects should be checked in the current client.
