Reach Solo Mode level 14, complete Main Story Chapter 3: By Lamplight, then enter the stone-lion formation at Lion Barrow.

The green moving bundles and quest objective appear.

To Friends, to the End is blocked

Finish The People's Wish first. Current quest references identify it as a required route before that Worldly Affairs chain can continue.

The Painter route advances after returning to the surface.

Route to the permit

Open the Lion Barrow crypt and clear the first memory.

  1. 01

    Break open the green moving bundles

    Enter the Lion Barrow stone formation and attack the leaf-covered moving bundles. Collect each Lost Embroidered Ball that drops instead of chasing the next marker immediately.

  2. 02

    Return all four balls to the stone lions

    Carry every Lost Embroidered Ball to its marked lion mouth. The central statue sequence will not start while one outer lion is still empty.

  3. 03

    Enter the large lion and cross the fire corridor

    Use the quest interaction at the central statue, enter the crypt and move along the safe outer tiles. Floor panels near the small wall lions trigger the fire traps.

  4. 04

    Repair and align the lion mechanism

    Recover the missing small lion, place it on the empty mechanism, then rotate all four small lions to face the same direction as the large lion.

  5. 05

    Find the Door Knocker below the coffin

    Follow the golden bird and painted corridor. Investigate the coffin to reveal the lower passage, collect the Door Knocker and attach it to the sealed door.

    Take the left route through the mercury chamber

    Move along the left side to collect the ash bag, then reach the central platform, touch the jade case and operate the lion mechanism.

  7. 07

    Enter the first memory and complete the permit

    Pick up the permit, place it on the table and use Xu Jian, Flora Expert and Find Poplar Seeds. If the name is rejected, use the Lan He fallback only when your client presents it.

  8. 08

    Hand it to the waiter and destroy both keepsakes

    Give the accepted permit to the waiter. Collect the xiao and the letter, burn both at the fire and wait for the memory to close before returning to the lion platform.

The permit is not the end of the memory. The accepted form must reach the waiter, and both the xiao and letter must be burned before the central lion advances.

The investigation resolves instead of looping at the corpses.

Final pavilion

Complete the conversation and board sequence, then touch the golden bird.

The crypt closes and the quest reward summary appears.

Blocked route diagnosis

Fix the last state that failed instead of restarting the crypt.

The green bundle keeps rolling away

Use a wider attack or control skill and stay inside the marked formation. The useful checkpoint is the Lost Embroidered Ball pickup, not where the bundle stops.

The giant lion door will not open

Check for the missing small statue before rotating anything. All four small lions must be installed and face the same direction as the large lion.

The permit rejects Xu Jian

Keep Flora Expert and Find Poplar Seeds. If Lan He is available, use that name variant. Current May 2026 walkthroughs disagree on the name field, so the client response is the final check.

The permit was accepted but the memory did not end

Give it to the waiter, collect both the xiao and letter, then burn both keepsakes. The form submission is only the middle of the memory.

The lion mechanism will not open another portal

Return to the last memory and finish its closing interaction. A solved puzzle without the final handoff, report, or golden-bird exit does not advance the platform.

06

The quest is complete but To Friends, to the End is unchanged

Return to the surface, pass time if the objective asks for it, then speak to the Painter again. Do not repeat the crypt merely because the next quest marker has not refreshed.
