Exquisite Scenery turns a successful Thundercry defense into a charged counter, Art of Resistance extends the shield window, Adaptive Steel improves the charged payoff, and Morale Chant supplies steady damage. Open group encounters on Stormbreaker Spear with Storm Roar and Thunder Shock, then swap to Thundercry Blade, activate Predator's Shield, block one clearly guardable hit, and spend Fighting Spirit on a Stage 3 Avalanche or Galecloud Cleave plus its varied follow-up. Sunrush Gale is a pack tool; its pull does not work on bosses.

Stonesplit Might Inner Ways: group tank core and solo swap
The standard four-slot loadout is built around shields, selected blocks and charged counters. Fighting Spirit is also called Battle Will in some effect text; both labels refer to the resource used by this weapon pair.
Inner Way
Why it stays
Swap rule
Core 1 · Exquisite Scenery
Why it staysTurns a successful Thundercry defense into a special charged riposte and supports the varied-combo resource loop.
Swap ruleKeep it whenever Thundercry Blade is the punish weapon. If it never triggers, fix block timing before replacing the Inner Way.
Core 2 · Art of Resistance
Why it staysExtends your own HP shields and their source effects; later tiers add stronger shielded damage and a shield-break follow-up buff.
Swap ruleUse Battle Anthem for solo damage when shield uptime and party tanking are not the job, especially before Art of Resistance is developed.
Core 3 · Adaptive Steel
Why it staysImproves the Thundercry charged payoff, where this slow Path concentrates most of its personal boss damage.
Swap ruleKeep it for group PvE. PvP can justify a sustain or emergency option such as Vital Leech or Trapped Beast instead.
Core 4 · Morale Chant
Why it staysAdds a steady general damage ramp while you alternate Spear setup, shield, defense and charged attacks.
Swap ruleTreat it as the stable fourth slot; replace it only for a tested mode-specific need, not because the first charge felt slow.
The official Version 1.7 update raised Thundercry Blade's Max Physical Attack scaling cap from Max HP, increased Stonebreaker's total damage by 30%, strengthened Exquisite Scenery and Art of Resistance, and fixed Predator's Shield under high latency. Version 1.8 then fixed Thunder Shock's first hit missing. Those changes make the shield, counter and varied-combo route more valuable than old advice to repeat only light and heavy charges.
