Where Winds Meet Dragon Head: 35-Skill Unlock Guide

Dragon Head is a collection milestone, not a hidden boss, chest, or side quest. Learn 35 other Mystic Skills, let the milestone add Dragon Head to your roster, then equip it in an open Mystic Skill slot. If it is learned but will not cast, check your Vitality instead of repeating unlock routes.

Pinned answer

Learn 35 other Mystic Skills; Dragon Head has no separate world route.

Open Develop > Mystic Skills and use the learned roster to find your missing entries. Dragon Head becomes available after 35 other Mystic Arts have been learned, so finish distinct quest, Skill Theft, exploration, Talent, and progression unlocks until that threshold is met. Current route references report that Dragon Head then appears automatically; there is no NPC turn-in or map pickup.

Requirement

Learn 35 other Mystic Skills

Reward

Dragon Head appears automatically

Cast check

100 Vitality in current references

Old beta videos may say 32 skills. That number belongs to an earlier test catalog. Current Global references and the later original 葉龍驤首 route both use 35 other Mystic Arts. Dragon Head is the resulting skill, so do not count its locked entry as one of the 35 prerequisites.

Unlock route

Five checks from a nearly complete roster to a usable Dragon Head skill.

  1. 1

Separate Dragon Head from Dragon's Breath

Dragon Head is the leaf-and-dust dragon strike tied to a collection milestone. Dragon's Breath is the fire-breathing skill from the Beast Reverie and Fairgrounds route. Learning one does not satisfy the other's unlock instructions.

  2. 2

Audit learned skills, not upgrades or equipped slots

Open Develop > Mystic Skills and check which distinct skills are actually learned. The requirement is 35 other Mystic Arts. Ranking one skill, breaking through a tier, or opening another hotbar slot improves an existing system but does not add a new learned skill to this milestone.

  3. 3

Fill the easiest missing routes first

Compare the locked entries with the Mystic Skill Unlock Index. Clear short Skill Theft observations, claim finished quest rewards, buy eligible Basic Talent nodes, and collect automatic exploration or movement rewards before committing to a long boss-comprehension route solely for the count.

  4. 4

    Learn the thirty-fifth prerequisite

Once 35 other Mystic Skills are learned, check the roster again for Dragon Head. Current references describe the reward as automatic. If the panel was already open, close and reopen it before assuming another quest or chest exists.

  5. 5

Equip it and verify the cast resource

Assign Dragon Head to an unlocked Mystic Skill slot. The current skill reference lists a 100-Vitality cost, so a character with a smaller maximum can own and equip the skill but still be unable to cast it. Raise maximum Vitality through the relevant Oddity turn-ins and Melodies of Peace nodes.

Global and older guides

Dragon Head, 葉龍驤首, and the old 32-skill claim resolved.

ReferenceWhat to use now
Current Global nameDragon Head is the current English name for the leaf-and-dust burst skill.
Original Chinese name葉龍驤首 / 叶龙骧首 (Ye Long Xiang Shou) is the Chinese identity used by the original acquisition article.
Current requirementLearn 35 other Mystic Arts. This is a roster milestone, not a quest objective, boss study, Talent-point threshold, or scroll location.
Old beta requirementSome 2024 test videos say 32. The available catalog changed; use the current 35-other-skills requirement for the Global version.
Common name collisionDragon's Breath is 神龍吐火 and has a separate Kaifeng item-return route. It is not an alternate translation of Dragon Head.

Troubleshooting and use

Diagnose the roster count, automatic reward, equipment slot, and Vitality separately.

I cannot find a Dragon Head quest or map marker

There is no dedicated Dragon Head world route. The unlock checks how many other Mystic Skills you have learned. Work from the learned roster and the unlock index rather than searching for an NPC, chest, or boss marker.

My menu shows 35 entries, but Dragon Head is still locked

The current wording is 35 other Mystic Arts. Do not include Dragon Head's locked entry in the prerequisite count, and distinguish learned skills from visible but locked catalog entries. You need 35 learned skills before Dragon Head is added.

I upgraded Mystic Skills 35 times and nothing happened

Ranks and breakthrough tiers do not create new learned skills. The milestone needs distinct Mystic Arts in your roster, so use missing unlock entries rather than spending more materials on skills you already own.

I only counted my eight combat slots

Equipped slots are a loadout, not the collection count. Review the full Mystic Skill roster and its Offensive, General, Movement, and other current categories instead of counting only the buttons on your active bar.

I learned the thirty-fifth skill, but no reward screen appeared

Reopen Develop > Mystic Skills and look for Dragon Head in the roster; current references describe an automatic unlock rather than a separate claim screen. If it remains locked, recount only learned entries and verify the live requirement text before chasing an unrelated route.

Dragon Head is learned but not on my bar

Equip it manually from Develop > Mystic Skills. If every position is occupied, replace another skill or unlock an additional Mystic Skill Slot node in Basic Talents. Collection progress does not add a slot.

Dragon Head is equipped but will not activate

Check the lower-right Vitality meter and your maximum. The current reference lists a 100-Vitality cast cost. Submit Oddities and inspect maximum-Vitality rewards in Melodies of Peace if your cap is too low.

A missed cast returned resource and changed the cooldown

That can be current behavior rather than an unlock bug. The official Version 1.7 adjustment says a missed Dragon Head refunds 60 Vitality and shortens the cooldown to 30 seconds.

I cannot find 葉龍驤首 in the English menu

Search for Dragon Head. 葉龍驤首 / 叶龙骧首 is the Chinese source name. Do not open Dragon's Breath, which is the separate 神龍吐火 skill.

Unlock type

Collection milestone

The shortest route is whichever missing unique Mystic Skills are easiest on your account. There is no universal final NPC or location.

Combat role

Single-target burst

The current reference describes a leaf-and-dust strike that damages and knocks back enemies. It is a heavy burst option, not a puzzle substitute.

Cast protection

Super Armor and damage reduction

The current skill text grants Super Armor and 15% Damage Reduction while casting. Treat those values as patch-sensitive and check the live tooltip after balance updates.

Current miss rule

60 Vitality refund; 30-second cooldown

The official May 28 Version 1.7 adjustment applies these values when Dragon Head misses its target. A successful hit keeps the normal resource and cooldown behavior.

Sources and common questions

Current route facts, legacy search terms, and the next useful page.

How do you unlock Dragon Head in Where Winds Meet?

Learn 35 other Mystic Skills. Current references describe Dragon Head as an automatic collection-milestone reward, so there is no separate quest, boss, NPC, or chest route.

Does the 35 include Dragon Head itself?

No. The current wording is 35 other Mystic Arts. Dragon Head is added after those prerequisites, so its locked catalog entry is not one of the 35 learned skills.

Do Mystic Skill ranks and breakthroughs count toward 35?

No. The gate is based on distinct Mystic Skills learned, not the number of rank upgrades or breakthrough tiers purchased on skills you already own.

Does Dragon Head unlock automatically?

Current route references say it becomes available automatically after the learned-skill threshold is met. Reopen the Mystic Skills panel and check the roster rather than looking for a turn-in marker.

Is 葉龍驤首 the same skill as Dragon Head?

Yes. 葉龍驤首 / 叶龙骧首 is the Chinese source identity, while Dragon Head is the current Global English name.

Are Dragon Head and Dragon's Breath the same Mystic Skill?

No. Dragon Head is 葉龍驤首 and comes from learning 35 other Mystic Skills. Dragon's Breath is 神龍吐火 and comes from a separate Beast Reverie and Fairgrounds route.

Why do old guides say Dragon Head needs 32 skills?

The 32-skill claim comes from an older test build with a smaller catalog. Current Global references and the later original route use 35 other Mystic Arts.

Why can I unlock Dragon Head but not cast it?

Unlocking, equipping, and paying the cast cost are separate checks. The current reference lists a 100-Vitality cost; raise your maximum through Oddities and the matching Melodies of Peace nodes if your cap is lower.

What happens when Dragon Head misses?

Under the official Version 1.7 adjustment, a miss refunds 60 Vitality and shortens the cooldown to 30 seconds. Check newer official notes and the live tooltip if a later patch changes that rule.
