Where Winds Meet Midnight Blades: How to Join

Take the White Decree from Icchantika, stain that same item with blood and return its transformed version. The Wine Seller's Rogue Decree is a Nine Mortal Ways branch, not a shortcut.

Pinned decree answer

Return the bloodstained decree, not the purchased Rogue Decree.

The correct sequence is White Decree → defeat a target → transformed decree. Return that transformed item to Icchantika. A Rogue Decree bought from the Harvestfall Village Wine Seller creates a Nine Mortal Ways invitation instead.

Correct handoff

Submit the bloodstained result created from Icchantika's White Decree.

Wrong branch

The Wine Seller's Rogue Decree points to Nine Mortal Ways.

Standard joining route

Turn Icchantika's White Decree into the accepted token.

  1. 01

Reach level 10 and travel to Halo Peak

Level 10 unlocks the Sect clue. Go to Halo Peak in Qinghe and begin from its Boundary Stone.

  2. 02

Find the Seriously Injured Swordsman northwest of the stone

He lies on a cliff near the bodies. Speak to him to start the Midnight Blades initiation route.

  3. 03

Follow the bloodstained trail to Icchantika

Use the visible blood path rather than searching the whole mountain. If the end of the trail is empty, advance the in-game time to night and check the overlook again.

  4. 04

Choose 'My heart is that of an Asura'

This dialogue gives you the White Decree. It is the base item you must transform; do not replace it with a token bought from a vendor.

  5. 05

Defeat any target while the White Decree is in your bag

A hostile enemy or animal is enough. The White Decree changes into a bloodstained version such as Corruption Decree, Icchantika Decree or Annihilation Token.

  6. 06

Return the transformed decree to Icchantika

Submit the item that came from your White Decree. Icchantika accepts it, joins you to Midnight Blades and grants Infernal Twinblades immediately.

You do not need to kill another player for the initiation. A hostile enemy or animal can transform the White Decree without forcing an unnecessary PvP or civilian kill.

Wrong-token recovery

A Rogue Decree mistake does not lock Midnight Blades.

  1. 01

Do not follow the new invitation if Midnight Blades is your goal

The rejected Rogue Decree produces a Nine Mortal Ways invitation. It does not erase the correct Midnight Blades handoff.

  2. 02

Locate the White Decree from Icchantika

The token that matters is the one received after the Asura dialogue. The purchased Rogue Decree cannot be converted into the correct item.

  3. 03

Stain the White Decree with blood

Defeat a hostile enemy, animal, NPC or player while carrying it. Confirm that the item name changes before returning.

  4. 04

Leave any Sect you actually joined

Receiving a Nine Mortal Ways invitation is not membership. If you accepted it or belong to another Sect, complete that Sect's leaving flow before the final handoff.

  5. 05

Submit the transformed decree to Icchantika

The current route explicitly allows the correct token after a Rogue Decree mistake. Hand over the bloodstained result to join Midnight Blades.

Blocked route diagnosis

Fix the clue, time or item state that is actually missing.

01

The Midnight Blades clue is missing

Reach level 10, open Sect clues, travel to Halo Peak and inspect the cliff northwest of the Boundary Stone for the Seriously Injured Swordsman.

02

I found the swordsman but not Icchantika

Follow the bloodstained path from the cliff. If the overlook is empty, set the in-game time to night and retrace the route.

03

The White Decree did not change

Keep the actual White Decree in your bag while defeating a target. Check the inventory afterwards for Corruption Decree, Icchantika Decree or Annihilation Token.

04

Icchantika rejected my token

You probably submitted the Rogue Decree bought from the Harvestfall Village Wine Seller. It belongs to the Nine Mortal Ways branch, not the bloodstained-token route.

05

I already received the Nine Mortal Ways invitation

You can still join Midnight Blades. Stain the White Decree and submit the transformed result to Icchantika instead of continuing the other invitation.

06

The quest completed but I did not join

Check whether another Sect is active. The initiation can be completed while in a Sect, but you must leave it before Midnight Blades membership can begin.

07

I only have the Rogue Decree

Return to the Halo Peak clue and Icchantika route. The Wine Seller item is not a substitute for the White Decree he gives after the Asura dialogue.

Before accepting

Midnight Blades expects regular PvP, not just one bloodstained token.

Weekly Sect value

PvP earns Karma Points

Victories against other players add Karma Points and defeats deduct them. Join only if regular PvP and Perception Forest fit how you want to play.

Immediate Martial Art

Infernal Twinblades

The fast multi-hit Martial Art unlocks as soon as Icchantika accepts the transformed decree. It pairs naturally with Mortal Rope Dart.

Rank identity

Tokens replace normal titles

Midnight Blades changes token colors as members rise in rank. Higher members can enter the Sufferer's Trial for weekly leadership.

Leaving has a trial

Complete one Perception Forest match

Betray Master starts a Severance Trial. Another Sect can be joined during it, but the trial stays active until one Perception Forest round is complete.
