Use the fake Well of Heaven Elder route when it is still open, or recover through the Midnight Blades wrong-decree branch. The final dialogue is a Sect choice, not flavor text.

Follow the Well of Heaven clue until you return Zhang Yihao's jewelry. To join Nine Mortal Ways, choose I'll Go With the Flow. The dissatisfied response is the real Well of Heaven branch. If that choice is already gone, recover through the Midnight Blades Rogue Decree route.

Level 10 unlocks the Sect system. The Nine Mortal Ways clue appears through the overlapping Well of Heaven route, so seeing a Well of Heaven objective is expected, not a wrong quest.
Enter the restaurant and speak to the waiter San Qian. The older 九流門 source calls this 豐和村 and describes the same tavern start.
The purchase reveals the next objective. If no option appears, confirm the Sect clue is active and that you are not already committed to another Sect route.
This Elder is a Nine Mortal Ways member in disguise. His jewelry task is the branch point; do not abandon it because the quest still looks like Well of Heaven.
Go up the mountain and speak to Zhang Yihao. You need his large pile of jewelry, not all three kinds of Ill-Gotten Wealth. Celestial Seize is the safer early option; the Wind Sense Seize attempt can fail and is limited to two tries per day.
This answer joins Nine Mortal Ways. Choosing 'Not happy. I quit!' sends the route toward the real Well of Heaven instead; it is not a harmless flavor choice.
Do not farm all three Ill-Gotten Wealth items for this branch. The Nine Mortal Ways route needs Zhang Yihao's large pile of jewelry; the three-item objective belongs to the real Well of Heaven path.
At level 10 or above, find the Seriously Injured Swordsman northwest of the Halo Peak Boundary Stone and follow the bloodstained path to Icchantika.
The current Midnight Blades reference places this incorrect token at the village Wine Seller. Do not stain it with blood if your goal is Nine Mortal Ways.
Icchantika rejects the incorrect decree and the route produces a different invitation. This is the intended branch away from Midnight Blades.
Take the invitation or message to the objective in southwest Qinghe and complete its final handoff. Use this route if you declined the fake Well of Heaven Elder or lost the main branch.
Reach level 10, then open the Well of Heaven clue and travel to Harvestfall Village. Nine Mortal Ways does not begin as a separately obvious marker at the start.
Track the active Sect clue first and verify that you are in the restaurant at Harvestfall Village. Do not skip directly to the fake Elder or Zhang Yihao.
For the Nine Mortal Ways branch, the current route only needs the large pile of jewelry carried by Zhang Yihao. The broader Well of Heaven objective is a different outcome.
The direct Seize attempt is limited to two tries per day. Wait for the next reset or unlock Celestial Seize and use it while outside Zhang Yihao's line of sight.
That branch is effectively closed after declining and defeating him. Use the Midnight Blades Rogue Decree route instead of waiting at the empty location.
The final dialogue selected the real Well of Heaven outcome. Nine Mortal Ways requires 'I'll Go With the Flow' on the fake-Elder route.
Treat that as an older 九流門 lead, not a current guaranteed route. The current Global cross-check documents the Well of Heaven and Midnight Blades branches; use one of those two.
Leaving is not free
The current route sends members to Ni Laoshan in western Harvestfall Village and lists a coin payment instead of a Severance Trial. Check the live confirmation before leaving in case the value changes.
Weekly rule
Fake messages, fake red envelopes and Madiao are the documented weekly activities. Join because this social play sounds enjoyable, not only because the route is easy.
Immediate weapon note
The current Sect route lists Mortal Rope Dart on joining. Do not confuse that immediate reward with the newer Unfettered Rope Dart initiation route.
Newer Sect initiation
The newer Martial Art reference says Nine Mortal Ways membership plus its Sect initiation can unlock Unfettered Rope Dart. Follow that separate objective after joining.
