Where Winds Meet Celestial Seize: Unlock & Use Guide
The unlock itself is short. The mistakes are not: taking the wrong object can kill the route, the first cast is only temporary, and the combat version works only when the target is eligible.
Take the Nullifying Pill, finish the contest, then return to Qiu Yuehai.

short route, one bad target
Go to Heaven's Pier, start Foul Play with Qiu Yuehai, and use the temporary Celestial Seize prompt on Hu Wei's Nullifying Pill. Win the contest and speak with Qiu Yuehai again for the permanent skill.

Unlock walkthrough
Five steps from Heaven's Pier to the permanent skill.
Foul Play
01
Approach Qiu Yuehai at Heaven's Pier
Go to Heaven's Pier in Moonveil Mountain, Qinghe. Qiu Yuehai is the drinking man beside the stairs. Walk close enough for Foul Play to appear, then speak with him.
02
Accept Foul Play and follow its marker
Keep Foul Play tracked. The quest temporarily gives you the object-taking interaction needed for the next step, so you do not need to own Celestial Seize beforehand.
03
Take Hu Wei's Nullifying Pill
Aim at the object named by the objective and use Celestial Seize. The required target is the Nullifying Pill, called a medicine jar in the older Chinese route. Do not take the money pouch.
04
Challenge Hu Wei to the contest
Speak with Hu Wei after the pill is secured and complete the short drinking-contest sequence. Let the cheating scene finish before leaving.
05
Return to Qiu Yuehai for the permanent skill
Talk to Qiu Yuehai again after the contest. Foul Play must reach its completed state before Celestial Seize becomes a permanent Mystic Skill.
Current names beat old coordinates
Older guides say Shenxian Ferry and describe a wine stall. The current Global route uses Heaven's Pier, Foul Play, and Nullifying Pill. Use the old images for terrain and sequence, not for exact English UI wording.
Legacy route map

The original Chinese guide marks the route near Shenxian Ferry. The current Global quest owner is Heaven's Pier in Moonveil Mountain, so use this image for terrain context rather than current English labels.
This author-owned source image records the drinking-contest setup. In the current Global client, approach Qiu Yuehai at Heaven's Pier and start Foul Play.
The older article describes a medicine jar. The current tracked objective calls the required object Hu Wei's Nullifying Pill; that is the target that advances Foul Play.
The pill progresses the quest. The pouch does not.

Nullifying Pill
Correct
Advances Foul Play and opens the contest.

Older wording
The original Chinese guide's description of the required pill container. Match it to the tracked Nullifying Pill objective.
Money pouch
Do not take
The original route records an old-currency pickup, a failed quest route, and possible hostility if Hu Wei detects you.
Hu Wei or another nearby object
Wrong target
Re-track Foul Play and reposition until the named pill is selectable.
Before casting
Keep Foul Play tracked.
Read the target name, not just the outline.
Reposition until the Nullifying Pill is visible.
Do not attack Hu Wei to force a reset.
Why the first cast is temporary
Foul Play teaches the interaction before it gives you the permanent skill. Pulling the pill proves the mechanic; the final conversation with Qiu Yuehai is what writes Celestial Seize into your Mystic Skill collection.
Practical use
Use Celestial Seize for eligible weapons, loot, and carried items.
read the target signal
Disarm an eligible enemy
When the skill is active on a valid combat target, Celestial Seize takes the enemy's weapon and throws it back as a counter. Current references say the counter scales with weapon weight.
Limit: A grey skill or missing Use prompt means that enemy or current state cannot be disarmed. This is not a universal boss interrupt.
Pull a guarded or distant object
Target eligible loot from outside the guard's immediate sightline. This is useful for objects associated with chests, backpacks, and containers you should not approach directly.
Limit: The object still has to be targetable. Celestial Seize does not open every locked chest or ignore every quest gate.
Take an eligible NPC possession
Some quests and faction routes ask you to recover an item carried by an NPC. Cast from outside the target's view when the route supports Celestial Seize.
Limit: Not every NPC carries a valid item, and being too close can expose the attempt or turn the NPC hostile.
Reach an awkward target
The skill can retrieve a visible, selectable object without walking into the same space. The original use article documents this on guarded loot and an otherwise awkward chest pickup.
Limit: Treat the live target highlight as the deciding signal; old screenshots do not prove that every modern chest remains eligible.
Eligible boss disarm
legacy CN image
The original use guide shows the combat case: cast only when the target is eligible and the skill or contextual Use prompt is active. A grey skill means the current target cannot be disarmed.
Celestial Seize can retrieve eligible targetable objects from range. Staying outside the guard's sightline is safer than walking directly up to the container.
Solo has the full skill; co-op and online modes trim it down.
do not assume PvP disarm
If a quest object will not move in co-op, make the player who owns the world the host and let that account cast. Guest-side behavior is not the same as Solo Mode.

Troubleshooting
Fix the route state before repeating the whole quest.
eight common failures
01
Foul Play never appears.
Use the current English location first: Heaven's Pier in Moonveil Mountain. Walk close to Qiu Yuehai beside the stairs, then check the Exploration quest list and track Foul Play.
02
Qiu Yuehai or Hu Wei is missing.
Leave the area, return in Solo Mode, and follow the active quest marker rather than the older Shenxian Ferry screenshot. If story progress has changed the scene, reload the area before assuming the route is permanently broken.
03
The quest let me cast the skill, then it disappeared.
That first cast is a temporary quest state. Finish the pill, contest, and final Qiu Yuehai conversation. The permanent entry is awarded only at quest completion.
04
The pill vanished after reconnecting.
Re-track Foul Play, re-enter Solo Mode, and reload Heaven's Pier. If the quest says you already own the item but the objective does not advance, do not delete or consume anything; keep the state intact for an in-game support report.
05
Celestial Seize is grey or no target appears.
Move until the required object is visible and in range, then aim at the Nullifying Pill rather than Hu Wei. Outside the quest, grey also means the current enemy or object is not eligible.
06
I finished the contest but still do not own the skill.
Return to Qiu Yuehai after the cheating scene. Then open Develop, Mystic Skills and confirm that Celestial Seize is learned before trying to equip it.
07
The skill is learned but missing from my controls.
A learned skill is not automatically equipped in every loadout. Open the Mystic Skill menu and assign it to an available slot.
08
I took the money pouch and the route failed.
Stop attacking Hu Wei. Leave and reload the area, then check whether Foul Play can be retracked or reset. Recovery behavior is patch-dependent; if the failed state persists, use in-game support instead of forcing the NPC encounter.
Do not delete a quest item or kill a quest NPC because a community post suggests it. Those actions can make the state harder to recover. Preserve the item and objective state, then reload or report the stuck quest.

Celestial Seize questions players usually search after the route breaks.
direct answers
Where does the Celestial Seize quest start?
Approach Qiu Yuehai beside the stairs at Heaven's Pier in Moonveil Mountain, Qinghe. Speaking with him starts Foul Play.
Which item should I take from Hu Wei?
Take the Nullifying Pill named by the tracked objective. Older Chinese guides call its container a medicine jar.
Can I take Hu Wei's money pouch instead?
Not if your goal is the skill. The original route records that the pouch gives old currency, fails the intended route, and can make Hu Wei hostile when the theft is detected.
Why did Celestial Seize disappear during Foul Play?
The quest briefly grants the interaction before you permanently learn the skill. Complete the contest and return to Qiu Yuehai to keep it.
Can Celestial Seize disarm every boss?
No. It works only on eligible enemies and states. Use the active skill icon or contextual Use prompt as the signal; grey means the current target cannot be disarmed.
Can Celestial Seize pull items from chests?
It can retrieve eligible targetable objects associated with chests, backpacks, guarded loot, and some inaccessible spaces. It does not bypass every lock or quest gate.
Does Celestial Seize work in co-op or PvP?
In co-op, only the host can pull eligible objects and the normal enemy disarm is unavailable. Online use is limited to supported modes and does not provide the standard disarm.
Is Shexing Nanyue the same skill?
Yes. Shexing Nanyue is a romanization of 攝星拿月. Heavenly Snatch and Pluck Stars and Seize the Moon also appear in older English material, while Celestial Seize is the current Global name.
Do other unlock routes require Celestial Seize?
Yes. Golden Body uses it on Shi Yi, and Dragon's Breath uses it to recover Travelogue: Toehari. Several faction and item routes also use it as the safer possession-recovery option.
