Localization Risk Guide

A public rulebook for handling CN/global terminology, translated names, patch timing, and English guide copy without flattening source risk.

Pinned translation risk

Names travel badly unless they carry context.

translation stance

CN and HMT material is valuable, especially when it comes from the project's own author corpus. The public English page still needs to show whether a term is global-confirmed, a regional bridge, a searchable alias, or only a proof task.

Name drift

Skills, items, regions, and NPCs may change names between CN references, fan terms, and global client text.

Patch timing

CN information can describe a different live state. A good guide says whether the change is global, future-watch, or retired.

Meaning shift

A translated phrase can imply a stronger, weaker, or different mechanic than the original source intended.

Comparison route

Four checks for translated claims.

A translation row is not finished when the English name sounds good. It is finished when a reviewer can see wording, source region, player impact, and the label that limits what the page can ask the reader to do.

1

Capture exact wording

Record the phrase as it appears before paraphrasing. Exact wording protects later reviewers from translation drift.

2

Name the source region

Say whether the term came from CN official material, global client text, official English notes, or community translation.

3

Decide the player impact

Some localization differences are harmless names. Others change unlock routes, build advice, or resource decisions.

4

Choose a label

Use global confirmed, CN reference, community lead, retired or changed, or static safe before the claim reaches guide copy.

Warning signs

A translated name cannot be matched to visible global client text.

A CN patch note is being treated as current global advice.

A community translation changes a mechanic's strength or condition.

An old fan term is easier to search but no longer matches the current UI.

Reader promise

Searchable, not misleading.

Alternate names help search, but the page must not let a convenient alias hide the current global wording or the source layer behind a claim.

Term ledger

Examples that must keep their labels.

These rows are safe as comparison examples, but several are not safe as direct route, build, or unlock advice. The point is to preserve source context while keeping names searchable.

Dreamscape: Blissful Retreat

HMT

夢中不羨仙

Route wording changes with progress state, so do not publish a full route from one line.

Mystic Skill Breakthrough Box

奇術支援箱·夾鐘

Safe as a glossary term, but shop reset advice needs date and season context.

Hero's Realm

Mode names can support guides only when the page states the source region.

Da Ma Qi

打马棋

Keep as a CN watch item until global naming and availability are checked.

HMT bridge clusters

A bridge row is not a route guide.

The HMT 1.8 bridge rows are useful because they align official English and Traditional Chinese terminology. They still do not prove coordinates, current build strength, shop priorities, or exact UI click paths.

Map and route-state terms

English examples

Tomb of Yidao, Path of Void Boundary Stone, Sweetwine Tower

HMT examples

大俠伊刀之墓, 緣盡去路界碑, 不羨仙酒香塔

Use as labeled terminology only. Exact routes, coordinates, and reward claims still need screenshots.

Build effects and damage types

English examples

Qi Imbalance, Bellstrike, Silkbind, Bamboocut

HMT examples

真氣失衡, 鳴金, 牽絲, 破竹

Use for glossary and patch-impact copy. Do not turn effect names into build rankings or rotations.

Skill names

English examples

Sweep All, Spring Sorrow, Unfading Flower, Thunder Shock

HMT examples

掃千軍, 拋春恨, 不謝花, 驚雷震

Term rows can publish with labels, but timing, inputs, cooldowns, and usage claims need Global testing.

Beginner and UI systems

English examples

Fledgling Wanderer, Wandering Paths, Spotlight

HMT examples

新燕遊俠, 江湖行, 戲樂

Good for system vocabulary. Menu paths, shortcuts, and click instructions need current UI screenshots.

Resource and progression terms

English examples

Season Shop, Howling Ore: Vanguard, Gear Enhancement Tier

HMT examples

賽季商店, 嘯玉·飛將, 裝備疊音

No spending or upgrade advice from terminology alone. Keep date, season, and source lane visible.

EN / HMT / CN source desk

Term rows need an owner before they become advice.

This desk keeps useful names searchable while stopping them from becoming route, build, coordinate, reward, or spending claims. Each row shows the safest public use and the proof hold.

Author corpus translation

Translate the player problem before the wording.

Entertainment14 material gives the English site a strong starting point: real player problems, Chinese article titles, route logic, and repeated terms. The English page should convert that into a useful product, not a line-by-line translation with hidden source risk.

Translation rule

Keep the Chinese title searchable

When a user arrives from a CN/HMT article name, the English page should preserve the original term as an alias or source row instead of burying it.

Translation rule

Do not script-convert HMT into CN

Traditional terms are comparison anchors. A Simplified Chinese match needs a CN source, not automatic character conversion.

Translation rule

Working English is a label, not a promise

If the global client has not confirmed the name, use working-title language and route the row to proof tasks.

Translation rule

Translate the player problem first

A useful English guide starts with the player's need: unlock, choose, avoid wasting resources, find a route, or understand a patch risk.

Connected dossiers

Localization labels touch every guide.

The same name can appear in patch notes, skill pages, builds, map notes, and beginner guides. Send the reader to the page that can carry the right proof level instead of forcing every answer into a single glossary row.

Localization verdict

A translated claim is useful only when its region is visible.

Public English copy can use CN and HMT terminology when the source lane is visible. It should not flatten a regional term into a current Global route, build, resource, support, map, or unlock instruction without stronger proof.
