Where Winds Meet Boss Guide: Routes & Locations

Start with where the boss appears: campaign, open world, Bloodbath, or raid. Then match the current name and open the focused fight help instead of searching one giant all-boss page.

Pinned route selector

Start with where the boss appears.

A boss route can mean four different things: the quest that unlocks a campaign fight, the region that contains a world boss, the phase plan for a Bloodbath wall, or the queue entry for a multiplayer raid. Pick that context first, then use the exact boss name.

Pinned combat answer

Read the warning color before changing your build.

Where Winds Meet mounted boss fight from the Bloodbath guide archive
Gameplay capture from the Entertainment14 Bloodbath archive. Exact timings still belong on the focused fight page.

Red attack

Perfect Parry

Wait for the impact beat. A normal guard does not replace the timed counter.

Gold / yellow attack

Dodge

Treat it as unblockable. Leave the hit path instead of forcing a parry.

Qi exhausted

Burst, then Execute late

Use the vulnerable window first and trigger Execute before the window closes.

No warning color

Read the whole string

The first parry may not end the combo. Wait for the actual recovery before committing.

Current Version 1.8 group fight

Ravening Banes is a Lv. 91, 10-player PvE mode.

The official route supports auto-match or a premade through Wandering Paths. Do not rename an older CN raid to Ravening Banes without direct Global proof.

Version 1.8 guide

Boss finder

Search the name, alias, or thing that killed the pull.

Global names are used where the English client reference is clear. Transliteration and Chinese names stay in the alias line so an older video or guide still leads to the right page.

I keep dying before I understand what the warning color means.

Red asks for a Perfect Parry; gold asks for a dodge. Learn that split before changing gear.

Three-phase wall

Qianye

Bloodbath

千夜 · Blissful Retreat campaign boss

Phase three turns a controlled pull into vanish and panic pressure.

Learn each phase separately and enter phase three with enough focus for the vanish and late gold attack.

Clone pressure

Tian Ying

Bloodbath

田英 · The Promised Light campaign boss

The phase-three clones and flash stabs make the camera collapse.

Protect open space, do not let phase two pin you to a wall, and identify the real phase-three threat before attacking.

Bai Langzhu

Bloodbath

白狼主 · White Wolf Lord source alias

Claw, blade, charge, and flying-knife strings look similar at the start.

Name the opener before pressing. The page separates the visible move families instead of giving one parry rhythm for everything.

Open guide

Distance control

Sleeping Daoist

Bloodbath

Shui Daoren · 睡道人 · Qinghe world boss

Rocks, missiles, and delayed phase-two pressure punish close-range greed.

Keep enough distance to see the full projectile rhythm and finish the incoming string before spending the punish window.

Ender recognition

Elder Gongsun

Bloodbath

Gongsun Daye · 公孫大爺 · Qinghe challenge fight

Palm strings, Shadowless Kick, and toad-style branches drain stamina.

Back out of the opening string, answer the visible red ender, and treat old ranged-bait shortcuts as patch-sensitive.

Open guide

Endurance fight

Lucky Seventeen

Bloodbath

Xiao Shiqi · 小十七 · Palace of Annals campaign boss

Phase two becomes a stamina and dodge-discipline test.

Use phase one to learn the slow strings; in phase two, keep the dodge answer and stamina recovery ahead of damage greed.

Puppeteer fights

World & challenge

皮影師 · Sheng Wu · Curtaincall · source names vary by encounter

The glowing-spear move and the close combo need different answers.

Dodge the clearly glowing spear route, parry the readable close string, then control shadows and floor spikes before chasing damage.

舞馬人 · CN/HMT mechanic reference

Split damage, dance shockwaves, and branching charges waste the pull.

Focus the horse, jump the dance sequence, dodge the charge first, and punish only after a clear obstacle crash.

Match the Global name, region, and area first.

These are open-world names from the current English reference. Some entries still need an object, cave, island, sandstorm, or encounter trigger after you reach the area. Use the live map for the final pin rather than treating this table as a coordinate list.

After a failed pull

Fix the first repeated failure, not everything at once.

1

I die after a successful first parry

The move is probably a string. Count every hit once and wait for the real recovery instead of swinging after hit one.

2

Guard or parry never works

Check the warning color. Gold or yellow attacks are dodge checks; red attacks want a timed Perfect Parry.

3

The boss never becomes vulnerable

Watch Qi, not health alone. Correct counters and safe pressure create the Exhaust window that enables burst and Execute.

4

The camera keeps killing me

Move away from walls, clear adds that force blind turns, and stop chasing mobile bosses across the arena.

5

The boss is missing from the location

Identify the type first. Campaign and quest bosses need the right story state; some world bosses require an object, cave, or terrain trigger.

6

I cleared it but cannot claim more rewards

Separate first clear from repeat claims. Campaign boss farming and some Talent progress use Energy, so read the live reward panel.

Boss FAQ and sources

Short answers, current names, visible source dates.

What does a red attack mean in Where Winds Meet?

A red warning marks an attack that rewards a timed Perfect Parry. Wait for the impact beat rather than blocking as soon as the color appears.

What does a gold or yellow boss attack mean?

Gold or yellow marks an unblockable attack. Dodge out of the hit path instead of trying to guard or force a parry.

When should I use Execute on a boss?

After the boss's Qi is depleted, use safe burst during the Exhaust window and trigger Execute before the window closes, rather than spending it immediately.

Why is a world boss not at the listed location?

Check the exact region and area, then look for the encounter trigger. Yi Dao uses a sword near a burned building, Snake Doctor is inside a cave, and Wandering Ark sits beyond Hexi's sandstorm route.

Do campaign boss rewards use Energy?

First-clear progression and repeat reward claims are different. Current English references say repeat campaign boss rewards and some Talent progression can use Energy, so confirm the live reward panel before farming.

What is the current Version 1.8 raid?

Ravening Banes is the current official Version 1.8 ten-player PvE mode. It unlocks at level 91 and supports auto-match or a premade team through Wandering Paths.

Is Yupo Ran Qingcang the Global name for Ravening Banes?

This site does not make that mapping. Yupo Ran Qingcang is kept as a labeled CN/HMT mechanics reference; Ravening Banes is the confirmed Global Version 1.8 name.

Should I change my build after every failed boss pull?

No. Name the failure first: warning color, combo length, positioning, add priority, healing, or damage. Change the build only when the same mechanic still has no workable answer.
