Where Winds Meet Snowparting Blade and Phalanxbane Build

Snowparting Blade creates the opening; Phalanxbane Blade spends it. Build Blade Momentum with deflects and Grave Frost, apply Fearful Blade, carry Inner Passion through the swap, then commit Burning Heart only when the target cannot walk out or hit you first.

Pinned answer

Use Snowparting Blade for setup and Phalanxbane Blade for the charged payoff.

For PvE, equip Frost-Clad Night, Steadfast Devotion, Throat-Piercing Art and Morale Chant. Open on Phalanxbane Blade with Legion Summoner to establish Iron Guards, switch to Snowparting Blade, use General's Bane to stay on target, and rebuild Blade Momentum through deflect follow-ups or Grave Frost. Use the Snowparting special-skill window to gain Inner Passion, then switch back and release Burning Heart during a stagger, recovery animation or other clean opening. Inner Passion is the handoff: after the Version 1.7 change it speeds the charge and reduces Burning Heart's Blade Momentum cost from two bars to one.

Setup weapon

Snowparting Blade for Momentum, pressure and Inner Passion

Payoff weapon

Phalanxbane Blade for Iron Guards, soldiers and Burning Heart

Two English labels can look inconsistent across references. Official Version 1.7 notes call the follow-up Snowbreak Spring and the weapon set Cleftpeak, while some current guide rows use Finding Spring and Shattered Ridge. Follow the move effect and set bonus in your client: this guide treats Snowbreak Spring as the Grave Frost/deflect follow-up and Shattered Ridge as the Cleftpeak set effect, not as separate mechanics.

Build plan

Build the pair and practice one state-driven seven-step loop.

  1. 1

Unlock both Martial Arts before investing

Check the Version 1.5 mail from Shi Yimo first; the current English references say its bundle includes both manuals, both Path Inner Way tomes and starter Heng/Mo blades. If that mail is unavailable, Snowparting Blade has the To Scorn the Frost or Well of Heaven routes, while Phalanxbane Blade has Gourd of No Return or Raging Tides. Owning the weapon model without its Martial Art does not unlock the loop.

  2. 2

    Equip the four-Inner-Way PvE core

Use Frost-Clad Night, Steadfast Devotion, Throat-Piercing Art and Morale Chant. Frost-Clad Night strengthens the Snowbreak Spring follow-up; Steadfast Devotion adds the deeper Burning Heart and Anxi Soldier payoff; Throat-Piercing Art rewards varied combos and assists; Morale Chant is the reliable general ramp. Read your owned tiers: Version 1.7 changed several breakpoints rather than merely adding damage.

  3. 3

Build around the actions the set actually rewards

Use the Shattered Ridge weapon-set effect for boss hits, deflects, varied combos and assist damage. Obsidian Armor is the steady PvE armor choice when Tenacity trading is common; Agile Steps is the cleaner alternative if successful deflects are your real defensive plan. Prioritize Agility, Min Stonesplit Attack, Critical Rate, Physical Attack and then Power instead of chasing one showcase Critical hit.

  4. 4

Establish Iron Guards before leaving Phalanxbane

Cast Legion Summoner first. Iron Guards is what lets General's Bane call Heng Blade Anxi Soldiers and lets the Phalanxbane actions add their Mo Blade soldiers. Use Soul Burning only as long as the opening permits: an early Total Annihilation keeps the loop moving, while the full commitment gives the stronger hit and shield. Version 1.7 now grants Tenacity throughout Soul Burning, but Tenacity is not invulnerability.

  5. 5

Use Snowparting Blade to earn the next cash-out

Switch, close with General's Bane and keep its Fearful Blade window on the target. Recover Blade Momentum with a successful deflect into Frozen Under Spring or with charged-light Grave Frost. Take the Snowbreak Spring follow-up when it appears; the official patch increased its PvE return through Frost-Clad Night and made the Grave Frost input chain more reliable.

  6. 6

Carry Inner Passion through the weapon swap

Use Snowparting's special-skill window before returning to Phalanxbane. Official notes call it Fleeting Trace, while the current weapon guide labels the long multi-hit action Swans Treading on Snow; use the client action that grants Inner Passion. Version 1.7 changed Inner Passion into a 12-second stacking resource, so watch the status icon rather than assuming one old combo has prepared every charge.

  7. 7

Spend Burning Heart only inside a real opening

Switch back while Inner Passion and Iron Guards are useful, then fully charge Burning Heart during a boss recovery, stagger or Exhaustion window. Inner Passion speeds the charge and now reduces its Blade Momentum cost to one bar. Take available follow-ups, refresh Legion Summoner before Iron Guards falls off, and return to Snowparting instead of forcing another empty charge when the target moves.

Choice table

Choose the next weapon from Momentum, Inner Passion and the target's opening.

Entering a boss fight

Start with Legion Summoner, then decide whether Soul Burning is safe.

Iron Guards enables the soldier follow-ups that make later Snowparting and Phalanxbane actions worth more; charging Soul Burning blindly can delay the whole setup.

Blade Momentum is low

Stay on Snowparting and use a deflect follow-up or Grave Frost.

Burning Heart is the spender, not the recovery tool. Swapping early produces a slow charge with no clean resource path afterward.

The target keeps moving

Use General's Bane to reconnect and delay the charged payoff.

A missed fully charged Burning Heart loses more than a short setup reset. Version 1.7 improved General's Bane tracking specifically to make the re-entry more dependable.

Inner Passion is missing

Use the Snowparting special skill before switching back.

Without Inner Passion, Burning Heart charges slower and costs the old two bars of Blade Momentum. The status icon is the go/no-go signal.

Boss is staggered or Exhausted

Cash out Burning Heart and its Anxi Soldier follow-up.

The long charge belongs in the safest damage window. Higher Steadfast Devotion and Frost-Clad Night tiers add more value here, but the base decision is the same.

A heavy hit is coming during setup

Deflect, move, or finish Soul Burning for its shield instead of greed-charging.

Tenacity prevents some interruption; it does not erase incoming HP damage. Preserving the next loop is better than trading the entire health bar for one cast.

Switching to PvP

Keep Snowparting as the pressure weapon and treat Phalanxbane as support/payoff.

The PvE boss loop assumes longer openings and non-Arena bonuses. PvP needs control escape, patient deflect punishes and a separate Inner Way/Mystic Skill review.

Build fixes

Seven common failures and the specific state to repair.

Burning Heart is still slow and costs two Momentum bars

Check for the Inner Passion icon before charging. Version 1.7 makes Inner Passion both the charge-speed handoff and the condition that cuts Burning Heart's cost from two bars to one. If the icon is absent, return to Snowparting and use its special-skill window.

My Anxi Soldiers are not appearing

Refresh Legion Summoner and confirm Iron Guards is active. The soldiers are conditional: General's Bane, Burning Heart and Soul Burning trigger different assists while the setup is present. A weapon swap by itself does not summon them.

The rotation runs out of Blade Momentum

Use Snowparting as the generator. Deflect into Frozen Under Spring or charge Grave Frost, then take the available Snowbreak Spring follow-up. Do not spend Swans Treading on Snow and Burning Heart back-to-back without checking the resource bar.

Grave Frost loses its last hit or the follow-up feels late

That was a documented pre-1.7 issue. The official patch fixed the lost final hit and added pre-input for Snowbreak Spring. If it still happens, verify the client is updated, avoid canceling before the damage lands, and report a reproducible sequence rather than changing the whole build.

The guide says Shattered Ridge but the patch says Cleftpeak

The official patch labels the set Cleftpeak and its buff Shattered Ridge, while the current English build page presents Shattered Ridge as the set name. Match the four-piece text that stacks from boss hits or reaches maximum on a successful deflect; do not farm two supposed sets from the naming difference.

My old 斬雪刀法 rotation no longer matches

Keep the old route's useful role split: Heng Blade sets up and Mo Blade cashes out. Retire its fixed Inner Way tier claims and pre-1.7 resource assumptions. Current Global changed Inner Passion stacks, Burning Heart cost, Iron Guards duration, Snowbreak Spring bonuses and Steadfast Devotion breakpoints.

I cannot find either Martial Art unlock

Check the Shi Yimo mail and claim its attachment first. If the bundle is unavailable, search the current Global quest names: To Scorn the Frost or Well of Heaven for Snowparting, and Gourd of No Return or Raging Tides for Phalanxbane. The old source titles 斬雪刀法獲取方法 and 十方破陣獲取方法 refer to these two Martial Arts.

Shared resource

Blade Momentum

Snowparting rebuilds it; Phalanxbane spends it. Check the bar before every charged payoff.

Swap signal

Inner Passion

Carry it from Snowparting to accelerate Burning Heart and reduce its Momentum cost.

Gear baseline

Shattered Ridge effect + Obsidian Armor

Use Agile Steps when clean deflects, rather than Tenacity trades, are keeping you alive.

Old Chinese names

斬雪刀法 + 十方破陣

The author corpus also calls the route 裂石鈞 and the core Inner Ways 雙天白夜, 孤忠不辭 and 穿喉決.

Sources and questions

Current rules, original articles, and the next useful route.

What is the best Snowparting Blade and Phalanxbane Blade build?

For general PvE, use Frost-Clad Night, Steadfast Devotion, Throat-Piercing Art and Morale Chant with the Shattered Ridge weapon-set effect and either Obsidian Armor or Agile Steps. Snowparting generates Blade Momentum and Inner Passion; Phalanxbane spends the setup through Burning Heart and Anxi Soldier assists.

What stats should Stonesplit - Strength prioritize?

Start with Agility and Min Stonesplit Attack, then Critical Rate, Physical Attack and Power. Compare upgrades against the same encounter; do not drop the set and resource loop merely to chase one larger critical number.

How do I get Snowparting Blade and Phalanxbane Blade?

Check the Shi Yimo Version 1.5 mail first. Current alternatives are To Scorn the Frost or Well of Heaven for Snowparting Blade, and Gourd of No Return or Raging Tides for Phalanxbane Blade.

What do 斬雪刀法 and 十方破陣 mean in Global English?

斬雪刀法 maps to Snowparting Blade, while 十方破陣 maps to Phalanxbane Blade. Older Chinese material calls their Path 裂石鈞; the current Global Path name is Stonesplit - Strength.

How does Inner Passion change Burning Heart?

After the official Version 1.7 change, Inner Passion lasts as a stacking Snowparting resource. Burning Heart consumes one stack to charge faster, and its Blade Momentum cost falls from two bars to one while the effect is present.

Is the weapon set called Cleftpeak or Shattered Ridge?

Official Version 1.7 notes call the set Cleftpeak and its stacking effect Shattered Ridge. The current English build reference labels the recommended weapon set Shattered Ridge. Match the four-piece effect in your client rather than treating the two labels as separate recommendations.

Is this build good for PvP?

It can pressure and punish well, but this page's rotation is for PvE. In PvP, keep Snowparting as the main pressure weapon, wait for deflect punishes, use Phalanxbane for buffs and safe payoffs, and replace PvE-only Mystic Skills or Inner Ways after reading the Arena effects.
