Shortest correct method

Clear Bodhi Sea once, then enter Campaign Challenge for Ye Wanshan. Do not start practicing until the eye-shaped ring appears beside his health bar.

Wait for the signature move where he rises, the weapon head flashes red late, and he plunges down. Deflect near impact. If the eye ring moves, the attempt counted. Fill the ring, then defeat him and confirm Flaming Meteor in the collection.

Keep Ye Wanshan alive long enough to study him

Stop treating the rematch as a damage race. Use light attacks only when needed, avoid long burst windows, and leave enough boss health for repeated attack cycles.

Wait for the airborne red plunge

The safest target is Ye Wanshan's signature Flaming Meteor motion: he rises with his weapon, a bright red flash gathers near the weapon head, and he drives down toward you.

Checkpoint: You see the leap or rise, the late red weapon flash, and the descending impact line up in one sequence.

Do not confuse: The current summary says red attacks broadly, but the original route and practical guides narrow progress to this signature plunge.

Deflect near impact, not at the first red glow

Hold your input until the descending strike is about to connect. Ye Wanshan's red warnings begin early, so reacting to the color alone often spends the deflect before the hit arrives.

Checkpoint: The strike is successfully deflected and the eye ring visibly gains progress.

Do not confuse: Use the control shown by your own platform; an old keyboard label is not a universal input.

Let the eye meter decide what counted

After every clean deflect, glance at the eye ring. If it does not move, that attempt did not add Flaming Meteor familiarity, even if the parry protected you or damaged Ye Wanshan's Qi.
