Ask what mode
A build that feels stable in story content can collapse in Arena, Hero's Realm, Sword Trial, or a boss practice route.
Build field guide
A practical method for reading Where Winds Meet best-build claims without turning patch notes, CN watch rows, old videos, or community leads into premature rankings.

Pinned no-ranking questions
This is the build board's house rule: tier lists, old clips, CN routes, and patch notes are useful leads, but each one must pass the same public checks before it becomes advice.
Not as a safe universal answer. A build can only be recommended after the page names the mode, patch, source label, role, cost, and fallback.
Run six checksUse it as a lead, not a verdict. If the tier list does not show current Global proof and a mode test, it should stay under review.
Check stateTreat them as useful research rows for names, mechanics, and demand. They do not become Global build instructions without current verification.
Read rulesA patch row proves a mechanic changed. It still needs mode testing, role fit, and resource context before it can support ranked advice.
See examplesFollow the evidence trail: impact rows for patch risk, the beginner checklist for spending, and the Inner Way primer for slot claims.
Open routesBuild method
The site can answer build demand without faking certainty. Right now, the honest public move is to teach readers how to inspect a build claim before they spend scarce materials or copy an old ranking.
A build that feels stable in story content can collapse in Arena, Hero's Realm, Sword Trial, or a boss practice route.
Global 1.8 changed martial arts, Inner Ways, sets, Arena Endurance, and support context. Old rankings need dates.
Global confirmed, CN reference, HMT reference, and Community lead rows do not have the same permission to become advice.
The more a build asks for scarce materials, the stronger its evidence should be before the site recommends it.
No-ranking rules
These rules let the Builds section stay useful now while exact recommendations wait for stronger evidence.
A patch row proves something changed. It does not prove the strongest route without mode-specific testing and current resource context.
CN future-watch and community wiki rows can surface questions, names, and demand. They cannot silently become global build instructions.
A video or tier list made before a relevant patch needs a stale-advice check before it influences a public guide.
If a route asks readers to invest scarce upgrades, the page needs source label, patch scope, role, and fallback first.
Global 1.8 examples
Global 1.8 rows are strong enough to slow down rankings. They are not strong enough to make a universal best-build verdict.
Patch impact
Global 1.8 changed defensive stance and bow Endurance behavior in Arena.
Good reason to label PvP/ranged advice as patch-sensitive before ranking it.
Patch impact
Wolfchaser's Art 4th Realm has a global 1.8 Endurance-restoration row.
Good Inner Way impact example. Still needs mode testing before recommendation language.
Patch impact
Panacea Fan's Silkbind talent has a global 1.8 scaling change.
Good support/healer context. Not enough to tell beginners to chase a support route.
Patch impact
Vernal Umbrella Tenacity rows are scoped to Hero's Realm and Sword Trial.
Good example of why a build note must name the mode instead of making universal claims.
Audit questions
Which activity or mode was this build tested in?
Which patch version does the claim belong to?
Does the source label say Global confirmed, CN reference, HMT reference, or Community lead?
What exact job does the build solve: survival, burst, sustain, control, support, or exploration comfort?
Which scarce materials does the route ask the player to spend?
What safer fallback exists if the route is patched, renamed, or simply feels wrong?
Publish states
Search demand
Players are asking for best builds, but no advice is ready.
Patch impact
A dated source says a mechanic changed.
Under review
Promising route needs screenshots, testing, or stronger source labels.
Recommendation
Only after role, mode, patch, source, cost, and fallback are visible.
